Squad Marks V3 Colors Magnetize a Whole Squad for Just $8

squad marks colors

Squad Marks just added four new V3D infantry base sizes, and new color options making it easier to magnetize everything from Guardsmen to Terminators without rebasing your minis.

It’s wild to think, but when it comes to 40k armies, each one has a bunch of different base sizes. Guardsmen are on 25mm, older Marines use 28.5mm, Primaris are on 32mm, and Terminators use 40mm. Then there’s always that one character sitting on a random 50mm base.

That’s why the four new infantry sizes from Squad Marks are worth checking out. They follow the big-base V3D markers from February, giving you more options for magnetizing your minis for storage without rebasing your whole army, and at these prices, getting all those infantry bases upgraded isn’t going to cost a fortune.

25-27mm V3D Squad Marks (Pack of 10): $8

If you’ve got a bunch of Guardsmen, this is probably where you’ll start. You get ten markers and ten 8mm x 1mm magnets, and they’re also sized for Bolt Action, Konflikt ’47, Frostgrave, Stargrave, and Warlords of Erehwon.

The 27mm end also covers Star Wars: Legion and Conquest bases, so it’s useful if you’ve got more than just GW on the shelf. One thing to watch if you already bought the older 25-28mm Squad Marks: the V3D version now stops at 27mm.

28-30mm V3D Squad Marks (Pack of 10): $8

You still get ten markers and ten magnets, this time for 28.5mm Warhammer infantry and 30mm bases. That also works for Warmachine and Hordes, Bushido, Malifaux, Dark Age, Frostgrave, Stargrave, and Noble Armada.

32-35mm V3D Squad Marks (Pack of 10): $8 to $9

This one’s pretty much the Primaris pack. Ten markers and ten 8mm x 1mm magnets cover 32mm Warhammer bases, along with StarCraft TMG. They’ll stretch up to 35mm for Marvel Crisis Protocol, too. Depending on which option you pick, the store has these listed for $8 to $9.

40mm V3D Squad Marks (Pack of 5): $5 to $8

For Terminators, Custodes, and other chunky 40mm characters, you get five markers with larger 12mm x 1mm magnets. And they’re not just for Warhammer, either. The same size works for Warmachine, Malifaux, Frostgrave, Stargrave, Warlords of Erehwon, and Marvel Crisis Protocol.

The Magnet Lives Inside the Base Marker

One big change from the older Squad Marks is where the magnet sits. Those versions had the magnet sitting on the outside, which could be annoying when packing up your army. You’d pull a miniature out of the case, and the base marker would come with it, but the magnet might still be stuck to the metal. Or worse, it would end up rolling around somewhere on the floor.

With V3D, the N52 magnet sits inside the marker instead. Squad Marks says the new setup pulls harder and helps keep the magnet from coming loose. Plus, you don’t need glue, either. Just press the magnet into place, and you can pop it back out if you need to.

If a base marker cracks, you can reuse the magnet without scraping superglue off it with a hobby knife. If you watched our Squad Marks unboxing of the older versions, you’ll notice the change as soon as you pop one out.

The markers also have some stretch to them, which is how each pack covers a range of base sizes. A 28-30mm marker can fit both a 28.5mm Tactical Marine and a 30mm Malifaux base. Just don’t force one onto a base that’s too big, as Squad Marks warns that stretching a marker over a base larger than 45mm can snap the plastic.

Eight Colors Turn Every Marker Into a Squad ID

Add color to your squads with new Black, Red, White, Blue, Sky Blue, Orange, Green, and Yellow Squad Marks!

The colors are handy for keeping squads straight, though. Put red markers under one Intercessor squad and blue under another one so when turn three rolls around, you’re not sitting there trying to remember which five guys already shot.

We liked that idea when the first colored squad markers came out, and building it into the magnet pack makes alot more sense.

Final Thoughts on the Squad Marks V3D and Color Options

Between February’s larger bases and these infantry packs, V3D now covers everything from 25mm Guardsmen to 120mm monsters.

There are also 50mm, 60mm, and several oval V3D sizes already listed in the shop. So if you’ve got bikes, cavalry, or some oddball bases in your army, it’s worth checking the full catalog before assuming there’s nothing for them.

There’s not much reason to wait for another size release at this point. Pull the army off the shelf, sort it by base size, and order what you need. If you’ve got a GT or a long drive to the shop coming up, not having minis rattling around in the case is a pretty good reason to get it done.
