Warhammer 40k TTS Discord Server Gets Nuked

The Warhammer 40k TTS community just took a hit; find out why Discord may have pulled the plug and which servers can help you find 40k games now.

Updated on July 6th with links to the new minatures wargames server, more details about Malice, and the old TTS 40k discord.

It appears that the TTS 40k Discord has been shut down.

If you’re into playing 40k on Tabletop Simulator, that sentence probably hit harder than most. For years, that server acted like the unofficial hub for digital Warhammer 40k gaming—mods, models, scripts, arguments about lore accuracy, and the occasional rules lawyer going nuclear over line of sight.

But now? Poof. Gone. Here’s why it happened, what’s next, and how ForceOrg fits into all of this.

What Was the TTS 40k Discord Anyway?

TTS

If you were looking to play Warhammer 40k on Tabletop Simulator, there was one Discord server that pretty much ran the show: TTS Warhammer 40k. It was stacked with around 93,000 members—big enough that finding a match, getting mod support, or asking rules questions feels less like a hunt and more like a few clicks.

There were channels for organizing games, chatting about strategy, troubleshooting mods, and jumping into community tournaments. The server was also where things like the ForceOrg mod pack get built and updated, so if  you used TTS for 40K, odds are high that something you’re running passed through this place.

So, Why Did It All Burn Down?

great crusade god emperor of mankindLet’s get into it. The short version? Allegedly Drama. The longer version? Allegedly drama and IP violations, sketchy monetization, and some truly awful moderation decisions.

According to the creator of ForceOrg, the server’s owner—Malice—has been burning bridges like promethium-soaked kindling.

Multiple modders and longtime contributors raised concerns, and in their words,

“He has burned a lot of bridges with good people, and has expressed very problematic opinions and political views that have also pissed off a lot of marginalized groups of people.”

Above is one of many screenshots of his comments from the now-deleted server. Malice was also accused of:

  • Pushing his personal 3D printing business hard, including selling printed armies using models he had no license to resell.
  • Ignoring, and sometimes silencing, reports of sexual and racial harassment.
  • Banning people who called out bad behavior rather than addressing the problem.
  • Trying to monetize community-made content in ways that made everyone uncomfortable (and legally nervous).

Eventually, someone supposedly reported the server to Discord directly. Between the 3D printing issues, IP infringement, and poor moderation, Discord seems to have pulled the plug.

ForceOrg Isn’t Dead—But It’s in Flux

Force OrgThe shutdown doesn’t mean the end of digital Warhammer 40k. Not by a long shot. The people who built the tools, made the models, and ran the games aren’t going anywhere. In fact, many of them—including the creator of ForceOrg—are regrouping into a new Discord called TTS Miniature Wargames (more on that below).

No one wants to lose the progress that has been made or the community that has been built around it. If anything, this could lead to better, safer, and more transparent spaces for Tabletop Simulator 40k players.

Looking for a New Place to Throw Dice Digitally?

If you’re feeling adrift, don’t worry. There are already new places to connect, chat, and start rolling virtual dice. Here are a few existing servers picking up the slack:

Big names from the community—mod makers, former admins from the old server, and content creators—have come together to give the scene a fresh start. This new server, now live and kicking under the name TTS Miniature Wargames, is picking up where the last one left off.

It’s set to become the main hub for online tabletop wargaming. If you’re looking for matches, mods, or just a solid place to talk shop, this is where it’s all moving.

These are some of the other active servers as well. Each one has its own vibe, but they’re all run by individuals who genuinely care about the game and want to keep the digital tabletop thriving.

Supposedly, Malice, the Swag-Messiah, himself made a new server as well, called TTS Wargaming. So if you’re a glutton for punishment or just want your echo chamber back, maybe that one is for you.

Final Word From Us

If this whole mess has taught us anything, it’s this: the heart of TTS Warhammer was never one Discord server or one mod. It’s the people—the builders, the players, the scribes, the ones who painstakingly align terrain tiles for three hours only to lose on turn two.

We’ve still got each other, the models, and more than a few grudges over the latest balance changes.

Good riddance to Malice, a shame about the server. I’m thrilled to not get another ping on Discord about his incessant 3D-printing grift. Thanks for posting alternative Discord links!

Malice didnt do shit he rode off the mods and event runners who did actual work while shilling over priced 3d prints and a pay to play crusade section that imploded twice because everyone hated dealing with him.

Bluntly: Malice did more for 40k than almost anyone, especially digital 40k, that server was a huge hub that made getting into it, finding games, etc, so easy that lots of people who otherwise wouldn’t have touched it got a chance.
The fact that people are circle j***** about getting the server taken down because of politics is ridiculous and this is a huge loss for digital/tts 40k. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn’t give a shit about 40k, or getting new players in, they care about their political nonsense.
I’m not saying the server was perfect (in particular the stuff around monetizing the 3d printing) but its loss is huge.
I also never once heard of Malice or any of the mods kicking or causing problems for people over politics. So everyone who is mad is mad because people were allowed to say things they don’t like, nothing else. It’s pathetic.

Tryhard is also a great server for playing TTS in. The owners are nice and run some of the best tourneies i’ve played in.
