Here’s the Warhammer 40k Death Guard Combat Patrol value, along with our price breakdown and review of the box set.
The Combat Patrol boxes are designed for new players to the factions, just like the current Start Collecting Sets that GW introduced back in 2016. They are being marketed as a quick way to get a small force on the table and play some small games immediately.
Usually, the starter-style kits are a pretty good value, so even if you already have some Death Guard, this could be a decent value.

The chosen of Nurgle arrive in force to spread the virulent plagues of their devoted grandfather with a brand new Combat Patrol boxed set packed with everything you need to begin your campaign of contagion in the 41st Millennium.
The box comes with Typhus, Plague Marines, Poxwalkers, and a Biologus Putrifier. Each of these were solid options last edition, so assuming they all remain close to the old power levels, this is a decent pick-up for any Death Guard player.
- 30 Poxwalkers $105 ($35 for a box of ten this week)
- 7 Plague Marines $50
- Typhus $40
- Biologus Putrifier $32
Total MSRP: $227
Savings Versus $150 Box Price: $77
Is The Death Guard Combat Patrol Worth Box It?
So the value looks pretty good, but it basically all comes from Poxwalkers. If you need them, get this box. However, if you already have enough Poxwalkers and Typhus, this is most likely useless for your collection. Besides the Poxwalkers, this box contains just two characters and one box of Plague Marines.
So if you’re just starting out, or need more Poxwalkers, this saves you a ton of cash. Bit of a strange box overall but the if you need the minis in it, it is a pretty good value.
