The new 11th Edition World Eaters Detachments lock enemies out of stratagems, stack Blessings of Khorne on Terminators, and set the new Defiler kit loose.
Games Workshop just revealed the Faction Focus preview for the World Eaters heading into Warhammer 40k 11th Edition, and three new 1DP detachments are arriving alongside just in time to unleash the brand-new Defiler kit on your opponents.
Brazen Engines turns daemon engines into rampaging, strat-locking bulldozers. Meanwhile, Butchers of Khorne hands Chaos Terminators a stack of Blessings that make them hit like the Heresy-era Red Butchers they were named for, and Vessels of Wrath turns champions into avatars of slaughter who can blend hordes or crack armor on a whim.
So, if you’ve been running the Khorne Berzerkers, from the Gorestorm Slaughterpack battleforce, or have been reading the 10th Edition codex waiting for an excuse to refresh the army, this rules preview is just what you’ve been looking for!
Brazen Engines Gives the New Defiler Kit Somewhere to Belong
- Brazen Engines forces an enemy unit in melee to take a battle-shock roll at -1: A failed shock test locks them out of stratagems for the phase, which is a brutal swing on a Defiler swinging back.
- Talons of Butchery upgrade hands Maulerfiend Fists CLEAVE 2 for chewing hordes: Two extra attacks per five models in the target unit puts mob squads in the blender.
- Butchers of Khorne lets Terminator Squads stack a third Blessing of Khorne in melee: Sustained Hits, Lethal Hits, and Devastating Wounds running together on chainfists is a real threat profile.
- A Trophy for the Throne adds +1 to wound rolls against Monsters and Vehicles: Power fists wounding Knights on a 3+ turns Terminators into a credible answer to enemy big game.
- Vessels of Wrath gives Character melee attacks CLEAVE 1 or +1 AP on demand: Champions blend hordes or crack armor without committing the choice until they swing.

- Terror of Khorne is the detachment rule that forces a battle-shock roll at -1. At the start of the Fight phase, pick an engaged enemy unit, and they roll battle-shock with -1; fail it, and they lose stratagems for the phase.
- Talons of Butchery is the Maulerfiend upgrade that hands the fists CLEAVE 2: A 16-Ork mob eats six bonus attacks before the dice even hit the table, and the Maulerfiend was already running 8 base attacks on the fists.
- Apoplectic Clarity is the 1CP stratagem that ignores hit and wound modifiers: Your daemon engine ignores every modifier to BS, WS, Hit rolls, and Wound rolls, so the new -1 cover penalty just stops mattering when you want it to.
Butchers of Khorne Stacks Three Blessings on Chaos Terminators

Sustained Hits, Lethal Hits, and Devastating Wounds all stacking on a single chainfist swing is the kind of threat profile Chaos Terminator collectors have been waiting on since the 10th Edition codex came out.
- Adamantine Avalanche rolls an extra Blessing of Khorne for engaged Terminator Squads: When the TERMINATOR SQUAD fights, you add a Blessing on top of any already active, which is how you stack to three.
- Gore-stained Veterans is the enhancement that bumps melee attacks to +1 WS: The chainfists land more often before the Blessings even pop, so you’re loading dice on top of dice.
- A Trophy for the Throne is the 1CP stratagem that adds +1 to wound vs Monsters and Vehicles: Power fists wounding Knights on a 3+ turns Terminators into a credible answer to enemy big game.
Vessels of Wrath Turns Khornate Characters Into Avatars of Slaughter

- Wrath of Khorne lets every World Eaters Character pick CLEAVE 1 or +1 AP on the swing: Pick the target, then commit. No locked-in build choice at deployment, just pick the angle the target needs.
- Archslaughterer is the once-per-battle enhancement that activates every Blessing on one model: Drop it on a Daemon Prince, a Lord on Juggernaut, or a Slaughterbound, and you get better charges, better pile-ins, and fight-on-death for a turn.
- Aspire to Infamy is the 1CP stratagem that adds +1 Attack and +2 Strength to Character melee: A Lord on Juggernaut lops loyalist Terminators in half for a phase, and a Daemon Prince throws Knights around.
Plus, all three new detachments cost only 1DP, so they mix with the 2DP codex options like the original Vessels of Wrath build and Goretrack Onslaught for hybrid armies that the codex never let you build before.
Final Thoughts on the 11th Edition World Eaters Detachments

That’s army build that Angron’s butchers have never had access to before, and it’s arriving exactly when the new Defiler kit is hitting shelves.
T’au is up next in the Faction Focus rotation, so we’ll see whether GW keeps this 1DP cadence going for every faction in the 11th Edition rules rollout.
