Space Wolves 40k Combat Patrol Review
This is the ultimate combat force, loaded with 21 miniatures ready to storm the battlefield and obliterate anything in their path. If enemy units thought they could hold the line against the Sons of Russ, they’re in for a rude awakening.
It’s like assembling an all-star team right out of the gate, plus you can even play this box as is in smaller Combat Patrol games of Warhammer 40k, aptly called Space Wolves “Combat Patrol rules.”

Is it Worth It?
Of the newer CPs we’ve seen, this is decent in terms of value (especially compared to other Space Marine Chapters). Plus, you get a pretty interesting and elite force of almost all new minis (just the Wulfen are “old’). If you grab the army box as well, you actually grab a really solid starting force and almost have a full army!
Plus, while some of the newer 10th Edition Combat Patrols have been underwhelming (compared to 9th edition boxes), this one has more value than the previous few we’ve seen.

So, you’re wondering how many points the Combat Patrol Space Wolves box racks up in games of Warhammer 40,000? Well, in Warhammer 40k 10th edition, this box hits with about 500 points (at least in our rough estimates; it could change once the codex comes out).

What to Buy Next?
Well, you have a good mix of troops with this box, but it doesn’t force you into any one style of play. However, if you can manage to grab the Space Wolves army set as well, you will really have a great start and almost a full army (and some Grey Hunters).
But either way, you’ll need some tanks to blast the enemy from afar (and do some secondary missions), and the Space Wolves have so many cool wild units, and new character sculpts, you might as well grab them too (and help with the Wound rolls)! Plus, no Space Wolves Primaris army would be complete without at least a few Primaris Lieutenants…
So, while this box is a great starting point, it is only 450ish points, meaning you’ll still have the vast majority of your army to collect. So, don’t forget the rule of cool, and if you can find the Army Box, that would be worth it as well!
OOP 2020 Version:
The Out of Print (OOP) 2020 Space Wolf Combat Patrol box was Fenris’ little gift to new players. Released on November 11th, 2020, this set was packed to the brim with 17 models.
The box included a pretty random collection of miniatures with only a couple of Space Wolves-specific models, and was on the lower end of the value of the old boxes, but it is almost identical to the new one in terms of value (except $33 of the value is in upgrade sprues).
At a $168 price tag and an MSRP value of $215, it gave you about $63.50 in savings, assuming you actually needed everything in the box.

Anyway, you look at it, this new combat patrol checks a lot of the right boxes. You’re getting a hard-hitting mix of bite and brawn, all in one tidy, lupine-flavored package. Is it perfect? Nah. Is it fun? Absolutely.
With nearly $60 saved and a field-ready 500-point start, this is the kind of box that doesn’t waste time. And if you’re still short a few tanks or that one character that just looks too cool not to run—well, welcome to the hobby.
