Take a look back at our favorite Age of Sigmar (AoS) armies with incredible paint jobs from Adpeticon 2025, as we gear up for this year’s event from March 23rd to 29th, 2026.

Age of Sigmar at AdeptiCon 2025 was, for the most part, a full-on art exhibit. Hobbyists rolled in with forces so stunningly painted, you’d swear they belonged in a gallery. We’re talking glowing OSL effects that looked like they were powered by real magic, blends so smooth they’d make a barista jealous, and LED display boards.

These are our favorites of all of the painted AoS armies AdeptiCon had to offer. So whether you’re a painter hunting for your next big idea or just love to appreciate nicely painted armies, these are the army showcases for you.

Here is a quick preview of some of the armies that were on hand at the event. Look for more in-depth features coming soon for each of these hobby masterpieces!

Gloomspite Gitz with Custom Dwarf Walkers

Kharadron AdeptiCon

Kharadron AdeptiCon

Kharadron AdeptiConEver seen gobbos with mech suits piloted by dwarves? This army smashed expectations with towering custom-built walkers, marrying goblin chaos with dwarf precision. It’s like someone handed the Muppets a Gundam and said, “Go nuts.”

Painted to perfection and packed with charm, this Gloomspite Gitz army doesn’t just walk into battle, it stomps in style. Hobbyists looking to mix factions and flex conversion muscles, take notes: this is how you break molds and steal shows.

Nurgle Forest Takeover

Nurgle Sylvaneth AdeptiCon

Nurgle Sylvaneth AdeptiCon

Nurgle Sylvaneth AdeptiConWhat happens when decay sets up camp in the woods? You get a stunning Nurgle army that feels like a fairytale gone foul. With dripping fungus, corrupted trees, and models oozing personality (among other things), this force proves that gross can be gorgeous.

Saturated greens, earthy tones, and twisted bark textures keep the look grounded while screaming fantasy horror. If you’re planning your next Nurgle army, think less plague monk and more haunted grove.

Mega Gargant Outcasts of the Four Factions

Four Mega Gargants. One from each Grand Alliance. All painted like renegades with a mission. This squad looks like they walked out of a bard’s tale; Death, Order, Chaos, and Destruction teaming up like it’s the multiverse’s wildest group project. Each giant tells its own story through conversion and paint, and together they’re unstoppable on the table and in the display case. Want to make big models feel personal? This is your blueprint.

Dungeon-Raiding Gloomspite Gitz

Gloomspite Gitz AdeptiCon

Gloomspite Gitz AdeptiConBright squigs, grumpy trolls, and a dungeon’s worth of chaos. This Gloomspite Gitz force dials the fun way up with an underdark theme bursting in color. It’s equal parts madcap and menacing, with enough motion in the basing and paint to tell a whole campaign’s worth of misadventure. If you like armies that ooze personality, don’t be afraid to go bold. A few neon squigs can go a long way.

Kharadron Overlords with Classic Flair

Kharadron Overlords AdeptiCon

Kharadron Overlords AdeptiConThis Kharadron Overlords army skipped the flashy gimmicks and went full metal, with style. The classic purple, gold, and steel combo brings the steampunk flying fleet to life, while two skyships make sure you notice them from across the hall. Clean lines, crisp details, and just the right amount of glow make this force a solid reminder that strong paint choices still rule the skies. Looking to keep it classy? Here’s your skyport standard.

AoS Armies AdeptiCon: Lumineth Realm-lords

Lumineth AdeptiCon

Lumineth AdeptiCon

Lumineth AdeptiConClean, crisp, and absolutely radiant, this Lumineth Realm-lords army leans into the elegance of white and blue, and it works. Tons of archers give it battlefield presence, but it’s the pristine brushwork and disciplined palette that steal the spotlight. These elves don’t need gimmicks, they’re just that polished. If you want your force to look as sharp as it fights, clean contrast and a good wash routine might be your best ally.

Idoneth Deepkin in an Aquarium

Idoenth AdeptiCon

Idoenth AdeptiCon

Idoenth AdeptiConAquarium display base. Need we say more? This Idoneth Deepkin army took full advantage of its underwater theme, literally. With sea creatures swimming in resin, and Aelves posed mid-tide, it’s the kind of display that makes you do a double-take. Add in pristine sea-blue armor and glimmering wave effects, and you’ve got a showstopper. Planning to go nautical? Don’t forget: your basing can be just as ambitious as your paint scheme.

Bright and Gross Nurgle Army

Nurgle AdeptiCon

Nurgle AdeptiCon

Nurgle AdeptiConYes, it’s Nurgle, but it’s bright. Fluorescent colors cut through the muck like acid slime, turning every pus-dripping beast into a display-worthy nightmare. The Great Unclean One takes center stage, of course, but it’s the saturation contrast that makes this army punch way above its weight in the visual game. Want your chaos to be more eye-popping than soul-rotting? Don’t be afraid of color, gross and vivid can absolutely be friends.

Autumn-Themed Idoneth Deepkin

Autumn Idoneth

Autumn Idoneth

Autumn IdonethDark blue armor meets crunchy fall leaves in this Idoneth Deepkin force that’s part undersea menace, part autumn forest. The orange and ochre accents on the bases make every model pop, giving this army a seasonal flair you don’t normally see under the waves. It’s atmospheric, moody, and incredibly well-executed. If you’re stuck in a paint rut, changing up your basing game could be the fresh air your army needs.

Easter Orruks in a Basket

Easter Orruks

Easter Orruks

Easter OrruksThis one’s pure genius. An Orruk army bursting out of colorful Easter eggs, staged inside a literal basket, complete with marshmallow peeps lurking in the background. It’s playful, wildly painted, and still manages to look cohesive on the table. This proves you don’t have to sacrifice fun to make an army memorable. So, next time you’re planning a theme, maybe ask yourself: what would Gork (or Mork) do with a glue gun?

Skaven with Radiant Green OSL

Skaven AdeptiCon

Skaven armies are usually all about grime and rust, but this one goes full sci-fi with glowing green OSL across every model. It’s radioactive, it’s sinister, and it looks absolutely wild in contrast with the classic dark fur and worn metal. This isn’t just good lighting, it’s a masterclass in controlled chaos. Thinking about adding some glow? Pick a focal point and light it like it’s powering the apocalypse.
