This is a packed release for Warriors of Chaos, with the big army box breaking apart into standalone kits, two new Battle March army boxes, and a fresh Arcane Journal landing for Warhammer: The Old World. GW revealed the full lineup on Sunday, but the separate Chaos kits are probably getting most of the attention from players who skipped one big purchase of the core set.
There’s a lot arriving at once, and nearly every part of the release is fighting for the same hobby budget. The standalone Warriors of Chaos kits are the main attraction, but the Battle March boxes could be just as tempting for anyone looking to start a whole force in one shot. Add in the new Arcane Journal, its matching card pack, and a few Blood Bowl big guys led by a plastic Morg ‘n’ Thorg, and there’s plenty to sort through this week.

- UK, EU, AUS/NZ: Pre-Orders start at 5 pm EST every Friday for Independent retailers in these regions
- North America/US: Next, they go live at 12 midnight at some independent retailers in North America.
- Warhammer Webstore: Finally, pre-orders go live on Games Workshop’s own website at 1 pm Eastern time on Saturdays, along with other North American retailers.

The two-headed Chaos Dragon kit includes a Lord of Chaos and an infernal Chaos Sorcerer. One can ride the dragon while the other is built as a separate foot character.
The dragon can also be built without a rider or used as the infamous Galrauch, giving you several ways to use the same centerpiece kit.

Paint the dragon, rider, and foot character as separate subassemblies. Pin the rider if you want to swap characters, and leave the head crests loose until you’ve settled on a paint scheme.
Champions of Chaos Pre-Order

This pack includes two Champions of Chaos, one mounted on a daemonic steed and one on foot. Either model can carry the included banner as a Battle Standard Bearer, giving Chaos players several character options from one box.

Magnetize the banner so it can move between the two Champions. Paint the steed separately, since its barding covers much of the body after assembly.

The box builds 16 Chaos Warriors with hand weapons and shields. Interchangeable heads, shields, and weapons add some variety, while the included parts can make one or two command groups depending on the regiment’s size.
These are the armored infantry blocks that will hold the center of most Warriors of Chaos armies, especially for players interested in the new Chaos sculpts.

Leave the shields off while painting the bodies, then vary the heads and weapons so a large regiment doesn’t look too repetitive.

The Grand Cathay Battle March Army box includes a Shugengan Lord on Great Spirit Longma, 20 Jade Warriors, five Jade Lancers, six Iron Hail Gunners, and four Crane Gunners.
Both are designed for Battle March but can also start a larger army. The Grand Cathay box gives new players a straightforward way into that faction.
