Games Workshop’s Sunday Preview revealed the new Warhammer: The Old World Warriors of Chaos and Blood Bowl releases hitting pre-order this Saturday.
For anyone who watched the big Warriors of Chaos box land and decided to wait, this is the week that decision pays off. GW revealed that the individual kits are breaking out on their own, so you can build Warriors of Chaos for Warhammer: The Old World one unit at a time instead of committing to one giant purchase.
Plus there are two Battle March boxes for players who want a whole force in a single drop, a new Arcane Journal, and a card pack to go with it. And over on the gridiron, a few Blood Bowl big guys are lacing up too, led by a plastic Morg ‘n’ Thorg.

Warhammer The Old World: New Pre-Order Releases
The new Warhammer: The Old World releases go up for pre-order on Saturday, August 8, around 1 p.m. EST in the States, with a street date of Saturday, August 22, for store shelves.

Lord of Chaos on Chaos Dragon
The two-headed Chaos Dragon kit includes a Lord of Chaos and an infernal Chaos Sorcerer. One can ride the dragon while the other is built as a separate foot character.
The dragon can also be built without a rider or used as the infamous Galrauch, giving you several ways to use the same centerpiece kit.
Lord of Chaos on Chaos Dragon Hobby Tips
Paint the dragon, rider, and foot character as separate subassemblies. Pin the rider if you want to swap characters, and leave the head crests loose until you’ve settled on a paint scheme.
Champions of Chaos
This pack includes two Champions of Chaos, one mounted on a daemonic steed and one on foot. Either model can carry the included banner as a Battle Standard Bearer, giving Chaos players several character options from one box.
Champions of Chaos Hobby Tips
Magnetize the banner so it can move between the two Champions. Paint the steed separately, since its barding covers much of the body after assembly.
Chaos Warriors
The box builds 16 Chaos Warriors with hand weapons and shields. Interchangeable heads, shields, and weapons add some variety, while the included parts can make one or two command groups depending on the regiment’s size.
These are the armored infantry blocks that will hold the center of most Warriors of Chaos armies, especially for players interested in the new Chaos sculpts.

Leave the shields off while painting the bodies, then vary the heads and weapons so a large regiment doesn’t look too repetitive.
Chaos Knights
The Chaos Knights kit includes eight plastic riders with interchangeable lances, heads, and shields. It also has two sets of command parts for Champions, standard bearers, and musicians.
The Knights can use hand weapons from the Chaos Warriors kit, giving spare infantry parts another use.

Paint the horses and riders separately. Pinning the lances can also help keep them from snapping during transport.
Battle March Armies
The Warriors of Chaos Battle March box includes eight Warriors of Chaos, four Chaos Knights, a Sorcerer of Chaos, five Chaos Marauder Horsemen, and 20 Chaos Marauders.
The Grand Cathay Battle March Army box includes a Shugengan Lord on Great Spirit Longma, 20 Jade Warriors, five Jade Lancers, six Iron Hail Gunners, and four Crane Gunners.
Both are designed for Battle March but can also start a larger army. The Grand Cathay box gives new players a straightforward way into that faction.

Batch-build and prime the rank-and-file together, then use contrast or speed paints to get the large units finished. Save the characters for separate detail work.
Arcane Journal: The March of Chaos
Arcane Journal: The March of Chaos is a 48-page book covering the Chaos assault on the civilised lands. It includes lore, rules for creating Chaos Champions, expanded Winds of Magic mechanics, and more.

The Arcane Magic Ploys pack contains 56 cards with magical effects that can grant a wizard more power or backfire badly. It works as an add-on for players using the expanded Winds of Magic rules.

Morg ‘n’ Thorg might be the most famous Star Player in Blood Bowl history, and now he’s in plastic for the first time. He’ll suit up for just about any team except the Undead, who understandably aren’t his crowd, and you can build him in one of three uniforms to match his shifting loyalties: Imperial, Badlands, or Chaos.
Minotaur
Got a Chaos Chosen, Chaos Dwarf, or Chaos Renegade team that needs some muscle in the middle? The classic Minotaur is back as a brand new plastic miniature, and he’s exactly the kind of Big Guy you point at the other coach’s defensive line.
Rat Ogre
Some teams like their mutated brutes with a little more rat in the mix, and that’s where the Rat Ogre comes in. He’s quick for his size and can use his prehensile tail to grab an edge in the middle of a scrum, yes-yes.
Spike! Journal Issue 22
The latest Spike! Journal, Issue 22, zeroes in on Blood Bowl Sevens, the faster seven-a-side version of the game. Inside you get all the rules to put a Sevens team together and start playing, plus the usual fan-favorite segments.
Blood Bowl Sevens Pitch
You’ll need somewhere to play those Sevens games, and this set covers it with a double-sided fold-out pitch and two matching double-sided dugouts. It’s built smaller to suit the leaner Sevens format, so it fits the shorter game without taking over the whole table.
