An AdMech Imperial Knight sprue leak is here, and that 2028 copyright stamp is the big reason everyone is talking.
Somebody dropped a single sprue photo leak, and it looks like a Adeptus Mechanicus cog-covered version of the recently revealed Knight Destrier, and the 40k rumor mill had it bouncing around everywhere within the hour. It’s another Imperial Knights curveball, only this one has 2028 pressed into the sprue frame as the copyright date. That’s making us more suspicious than the sculpt is getting us excited.
We’ve seen plenty of leaked sprues like this over the years, and usually the date on the frame is from the current year or sometime before it. A date two years in the future doesn’t fit that pattern at all, and so far nobody has a particularly convincing explanation for it.
The 2028 Copyright Stamp Is the Part That Doesn’t Add Up
Updated on August 12th, 2026, by Rob Baer with the latest Imperial Knights rumors and leaks.

This sprue is doing the exact opposite. If that 2028 stamp is genuine, we’re apparently looking at a design that isn’t supposed to arrive until the current 11th Edition codex run is nearly finished. That would make this one of the earliest pieces of unreleased plastic we’ve ever seen floating around for Warhammer 40k.
A future-dated frame could just as easily come from a hoax, an AI mockup, or somebody on a factory floor messing around after missing that reduced bonus. We’re not saying the leak is fake. It’s just hard to believe we’re seeing a leak that’s not even supposed to be in production for two more years.
What the Sprue Actually Shows, If It’s Real

Those arc rifles suggest some kind of tank-hunting role, which gets a little strange because the Destrier already does that job. Maybe this Knight is supposed to work differently, or maybe we’re reading the base kit wrong from one sprue photo. If the finished kit really does come with this many weapon options, magnetizing the weapon arms is going to be the move again, for sure.
There’s also another weapon or arm assembly people are trying to identify. Two sections near the corners of the frame could be an industrial press, some kind of clamp claw, or simply arm components meant to work with one of the existing Destrier weapons.
Whatever those parts turn out to be, the overall design still looks like a Mechanicus-flavored Imperial Knight. Plus, there’s some precedent for that too, since the original Warglaives started out as a Mechanicus kit before the two Armiger boxes were eventually combined.
Where an AdMech Knight Fits in the 11th Edition Timeline
The release calendar doesn’t make the leak much easier to believe. Put this thing at the start of 2028, and there’d be roughly eighteen months left in the 11th Edition cycle. Push it toward the end of that year, and it could have something like six months before the edition turns over. Neither option gives a brand-new Knight much time on the table, but GW does like to end editions with a big release.
It doesn’t really change the other Codex release rumors out there. Space Marines are coming up, with Orks first out of the gate, then T’au and Custodes, while Marines look likely somewhere around late September or early October. If this Mechanicus Knight really is sitting that far down the road, it feels more like somebody accidentally showed us a future release than something GW is getting ready to announce.
If it’s genuine, pairing AdMech and Knights in the same release window would make sense, possibly alongside a small adjustment to the hybrid AdMech detachment.
Final Thoughts on the Adeptus Mechanicus Knight Leak

If the model is real, though, a plastic Mechanicus Knight released something like the Horus Heresy Custodes kits would be a pretty great problem to have. Those arc rifles alone look like they’d be fun to paint. We just want another source before counting this one as real.

What do you think of the Adeptus Mechanicus Knight leak, hoax or the real deal?

That sprue is supposed to be for an armiger sized redesign of the moirax. It actually doesn’t say 2028 on the real sprue, but 2026
I mean, at this point, it could be Santa Claus. There is no way to know what this sprue is about in this context, or whether it is even “real”.
