Orks 40k Combat Patrol Review
This Orks CP plays like a mini WAAAAGH! in a box: War Trakk up front, Boyz piling in behind them, and a Warboss there to make the whole thing hit harder than it has any right to. With the Orks Combat Patrol rules, you can crack it open and run it as a ready-made force right away, no extra kits required, just pure get-stuck-in energy.

Is the Orks Combat Patrol Worth It?
If you’re trying to stack a bunch of Boyz, this box is basically a green light. If you’re here for the big vehicles and walkers, you’re going to pass.
But if you actually want to lean into the foot-slogging side of the army, the value is solid because there is so much raw value in the box. Just know what you’re signing up for: paints and then about $115 in mini value.
What Can You Play Out of the Box? (Combat Patrol Rules vs 40k Points)
Combat Patrol is its own little rules bubble, so you’re not really sweating points when you play it as intended. But if you’re looking at this box as a jump-start into regular 40k, the Orks Combat Patrol contents usually clock in around 450ish points, give or take whatever the latest points shuffle says this week.
What to Buy Next After the Orks Combat Patrol
Once you’ve built the Orks Combat Patrol, the easiest next step is adding something that gives all those Boyz a little more punch. A Trukk is an obvious pickup if you want to get infantry across the table faster, while Meganobz or another dedicated melee unit can give the army a nastier threat your opponent can’t ignore. From there, you can start leaning into whatever part of Orks you actually like, whether that’s more bodies, bigger vehicles, or a full-on Beast Snagga WAAAGH!
Old Ork Combat Patrol (2021): Gordrang’s Gitstompas Contents and Value
The older out-of-print Orks Combat Patrol is the one that still gets dragged into every “value” debate, mostly because it packed a broader mix. Here’s the quick side-by-side on what it had and what the value looked like, so you can compare it on facts instead of pure teef-tinted memories.

Old Ork Combat Patrol (2024): Morgrim’s Butchas Beast Snagga Box Contents and Value
The box from 2024 focused on the Beast Snaggas, but with Armageddon and the new Orks all taking center stage, how does the old value hold up?
| Models | Unit Name | Value |
| 1 | Beastboss | $43.50 |
| 20 | Beast Snagga Boyz | $120 ($60 for 10) |
| 4 | Squighog Boyz | $69 |

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a new Ork combat patrol in 40K?
Yes. For 11th Edition, the core Ork Combat Patrol is the ’Ardmob, sold in Getting Started with Orks and the Warhammer 40,000 Starter Set. Its rules went live in the Warhammer 40,000 app on July 23rd, 2026, and Games Workshop says app support for older boxes like this one is on the way.
Final Thoughts From Us
The Orks Combat Patrol is a weird one because the savings look massive on paper, but a big chunk of that value comes from paints and hobby supplies instead of more minis. If you’re brand new to Orks and need the whole starter setup, it’s a pretty tidy way to get Boyz on the table fast.
If you already own paints, brushes, and basic hobby gear, though, you’ll want to look closely at the actual model value before throwing down the teef.
