This Necrons Combat Patrol is basically a starter phalanx with a nasty counterpunch: Warriors to hold ground, Skorpekh Destroyers to carve up anything that gets close, and a Doomstalker parked in the backline to delete targets at range. But, the value is quite low, so it’s really up to you if you need every miniature inside.
For the smaller games, the Necrons Combat Patrol rules let you run the box as a self-contained list straight out of the gate.

Honestly… nope. With the Necrons Combat Patrol, the only thing you’re really “getting for free” is the Overlord, and it’s not even some rare unicorn sculpt anymore. It’s just finally sold on its own, so you are not scoring a hard-to-find mini or anything.
Realistically, you’re better off cherry-picking the kits you actually want instead of paying for GW’s pre-selected grab bag. This is one of the lowest-value Combat Patrols we’ve seen, and if you want your money to stretch, you’re way better off hunting down an Indomitus starter on the secondary market. Failing that, most Christmas Battleforces or even the old CP box come out looking like the smarter buy.
