Recent Rumor Engine Preview Reveals:
Updated on January 14th, 2026, by Rob Baer with the latest teaser, new reveals, and leaks!
These Warhammer rumor engines were recently solved with new model previews and leaks from the community.
March 19th 2024: Revealed January 5th, 2026
This was an easy one to place, and a new store anniversary model seems like the perfect spot.
November 5th, 2024: Revealed January 5th, 2026
While we sided with Chaos in our 50/50, we were wrong; the other option, Death, won out for this one.
October 14th, 2025: Revealed January 1st, 2026
We were right on the money with that Chaos Apothecary guess! Seeing it as a new wave with Crimson Corsairs is sweet!
September 23rd, 2025: Rumored Leak
As one of two leaks on this supposed miniature leak, it looks like it could be interesting!
September 9th, 2025: Rumored Leak
While the miniature is fuzzy, you can pretty clearly see the gun in the air on the right side of the miniature, and possibly the fist on the right.
September 16th, 2025: Rumored Leak
Of the leaks, this one is the hardest to see, but it will certainly be a cool miniature if it comes to fruition.
October 7th, 2025: Rumored Leak
The last leak looks like some tassels/ribbons on Yriel’s Spear of Twilight!
All the Unsolved Warhammer Rumor Engines So Far
GW’s Top Unsolved Warhammer 40k Rumor Engine Previews Now!
Despite the recent reveals by Games Workshop, all of these Warhammer Rumor Engine teasers have yet to be identified. Here are the remaining Warhammer Rumor Engine teasers that haven’t been unveiled… yet.
Unsolved Rumor Engines: 2025
January 13th, 2025: Being Swung Around
This rumor engine has big chaos energy, but there are no symbols on it, meaning anything from Dark Mechanicum to Necromunda is still on the table, too. That being said, our Hail Mary is a sort of power flail mid swing, with the odd-looking hilt actually being the “chain” equivalent to this power flail on a 40k Chaos model.
January 6th, 2025: Tube City Blueprint
This new rumor engine is clearly a hanging tube. That being said, there’s no clear iconography! As for what factions tend to have this style of tubing, Skaven and Death Guard immediately came to mind. With those two covering each main era, we lean slightly towards Skaven as they’ve got a ton of old war machines and tech that could always use some updating!
December 30th, 2025: Cadia Stands, Maybe
This new rumor engine is clearly a dead Cadian trooper. You can see the helmet, the vest, a skull, and perhaps cloths from the shirt or a sandbag. That being said, there’s no telling where it goes with! Terrain is likely, but scenic bases are also possible.
It’s unlikely to be an Impeium miniature’s base, but it could be Imperium terrain! What seems most likely, and are more than happy to have dead Cadians on display, is definitely Chaos Space Marines.
December 23rd, 2025: The Year of Chaos is Coming
This new rumor engine is clearly a flame with some spirit faces inside it. That being said, Chaos is all forms: Age of Sigmar and Chaos Space Marines in 40k. Both have plenty of “spirits” and flames in their models!
As for whether it’s 40k or AoS it’s hard to say, but we lean slightly towards 40k as that’s just more on our mind with recent reveals!
Plus, does that look like a Power Armor backpack? We think it may…
December 16th, 2025: New Mantis Warrior
This new rumor engine looks like some sort of mantis arm. While it seems pretty clear, there’s actually a handful of very different possibilities, mainly Tyranids and Sylvaneth.
With that, there have been some super unique miniatures in the Sylvaneth line, and they dont get releases too often, so we are praying for it to be for them!
December 9th, 2025: Flamethrowers for Everyone
This new Warhammer rumor engine looks like some sort of old-school flame thrower. While tons of factions are possible, it looks fairly well kept for supposedly AoS or Old World tech, meaning order is most likely.
With that, eliminating Skaven or Chaos, Dwarfs and Humans seem to be the most likely!
December 2nd, 2025: Boxed in King
This new rumor engine is some important bones on display! As for where it’s from, there’s only really one big option for us, and that’s Adepta Sororitas (Sisters of Battle) in 40k.
They tend to like holy relics; often, the bones of saints and holy people are involved or stuffed into boxes. Still, specialist games or even death in AoS are simple alternatives to consider, too.
November 25th, 2025: Lil Bugger
This new rumor engine is clearly a small creature, but it’s certainly unique! As for where it’s from, there’s only really one big option for us, and that’s Sylvaneth in AoS.
The spicy options then cover the rest of the possibilities with Necromunda, Kill Team, and maybe even a Blood Bowl mini.
November 18th, 2025: Unchained
This new rumor engine is clearly a set of chains and cuffs, making all the typical evil-doers likely. However, the uniformity and cuff shape might suggest it’s not Destruction or Orks, and instead a more “sophisticated” race like Dark Aelves/Dark Eldar or Helsmiths of Hashut.
Another big option is just some terrain, possibly one with dungeon-like scenery?
November 11th, 2025 Warhammer Rumor Engine: Top Knot
This Warhammer rumor engine is clearly a top knot. There’s a slight chance it could be an upside-down weapon tassle too, but those spikes sure wouldn’t be comfortable to hold.
Maybe it is the (new) Year of 40k Chaos soon? This seems to match the Chaos Space Marine below, sans the spikey bits.
November 4th, 2025: A Cinematic Teaser
This new rumor engine is clearly a movie reel, flywheel, or valve in some muck on the ground! That means, terrain, tanks, or general specialist game releases with unique technology are all most likely.
It being on the ground and in some liquid does make us lean toward terrain, or otherwise a model in a “dirty” place like Necromunda.
October 28th, 2025: Grenade in a Knife Fight
This new rumor engine initially looks like a mace, but below the spiked head, it looks like the end of a rifle barrel!
So instead of a knife bayonet, we have a grenade instead?
With that, we think it’s a Rifle-mounted grenade or something similar. That means 40k and most likely Orks or maybe renegades / Chaos Space Marines?
October 21st, 2025: Terminator Loot
This rumor engine is clearly someone or something holding a Space Marine honor called the Crux Terminatus. These are usually found exclusively on Terminators, but with a bearded being holding it, possibilities are all over the place!
September 30th, 2025: Gonna Pet That Dog
This rumor engine is clearly some form of animal or hound. Something about the legs and tail is not quite right; it might be a curveball leading to GSC or even some oddball Chaos monster. Otherwise, Necromunda is an easy option.
July 8th, 2025: Your Finest Potion
This rumor engine is clearly a backpack with loads of gear tied onto it, like potions! Unfortunately, pretty much any faction can get this sort of bit, but it’s most likely AoS or a specialist game.
January 28th, 2025: Throw The Book At Them
The newest image is clearly a humanoid holding a pretty vanilla book, and Inquisition is the perfect fit for something so hipster in 40k. Otherwise, a ton of possibilities are in The Old World and even humans in Age of Sigmar or specialist games!
Warhammer Rumor Engines: Unsolved From 2024
November 19th, 2024 Rumor Engine: A Primarch Preview
This Rumor Engine can only really be a spear or a staff at an odd orientation, but the sharp edge definitely makes us lean heavily towards spears, and while Eldar and Aelves are possible, the clearest choice seems to be Necrons! But it is giving off some Alpha Legion vibes as well.
Is this the “Pale Spear” to a new Alpharius that would be the third new model in the revamped Forge World character series that they said would represent the primarchs at the height of the heresy? There are some similarities between the rumor engine weapon and the existing model’s above.
Rumor is that Alpharius’s Pale Spear dates back to before the first Aeldari appeared, and the Necrons have a similar weapon called the Hyperphase Blade.
Speaking of Necrons, they have a few older models that could go for a pick-me-up or even a brand-new guard or royalty-style model! However, the bit looks bone-like, which would be interesting for a new Necron…
September 24th, 2024: Spittin’ Hot Fire
Looking at this bit, it is very clearly a muzzle on a new flamethrower primed and ready to spit flames! As for which faction and game system it goes with, that’s much more open-ended, and pretty much anything goes. The faction most known for flamers is Sisters of Battle, so that’s a safe bet!
September 10th, 2024: Hot Fire New Weapon
Looking at this bit, it is very clearly a bladed weapon with ridges that seem to imitate fire! Two options that immediately came to mind are Orks and Necromunda, where gangs make do with what they can!
Unsolved From 2022: Warhammer Rumor Engine
September 13th, 2022: Sneaky Spider Slashers
The oldest current Warhammer Rumor Engine is clearly a spider’s head! That means a clear likely release for either one of two AoS factions. Gloomspite Gits and their spider riders, or Chaos and their Spider Cult, which was spotlighted in Warcry as a Warband. That said, we really hope it’s Gitz, as they need the help and probably even a rework soon!
In the 4th edition AoS book, we can spot this art which almost certainly is the rumor engine bit! Perhaps a new character/monster is coming soon?
