The 40k Christmas Box for Chaos Space Marines, the Cult of Destruction, is here, and if you’re thinking about buying the battleforce, we break down the models, value, and who it’s for.
GW just dropped the biggest savings of the whole Christmas Battleforce lineup on the traitors, and it comes with a Defiler stomping right down the middle of it. The Chaos Space Marines Battleforce, Cult of Destruction, is all heavy weapons and hulking daemon engines, which is pretty much the Iron Warriors’ entire personality in one box.
Sure, the Sons of Perturabo get top billing here. But this box works for any warband, because who in their right mind turns down a Defiler, especially one flanked by Havocs, Obliterators, and Mutilators?
We’re going to break down what’s inside the Battleforce: Chaos Space Marines Cult of Destruction, what it’s likely to cost, when pre-orders may land, and whether the value holds up.
- What’s in the Battleforce: Chaos Space Marines Cult of Destruction: one Warpsmith, one Defiler, one Venomcrawler, two Obliterators, five Havocs, and three Mutilators.
- Value is the best of the 2026 boxes: itemized MSRP comes out to about $419.50, putting savings at roughly $154.50 (37%) versus the estimated $265 box price.
- Tabletop take: 13 miniatures, packed with heavy weapons, a daemon engine, and some of the nastiest melee infantry Chaos has, for somewhere around 950 points.
- Pricing: Assumed to be the new price increase amount of $265 for Battleforces.
- Release Date: TBD, but usually either goes on pre-order or hits store shelves on Black Friday, which could be on or around Nov 27th, 2026.

Chaos Space Marines Cult of Destruction Battleforce Release Date & Retail Price:

- Chaos Space Marines Cult of Destruction Battleforce Retail Price (MSRP/RRP): $265 (USD). Regional pricing is listed below. This price is estimated from the recent Battleforce box price increase, and the actual price has not been revealed yet.
So at the expected $265 price, the Cult of Destruction saves about $154.50 (37%) compared with $419.50 in separate kits and includes roughly 945 points of models. That’s a big jump from what the earlier Chaos Space Marines Warband battleforce handed players.

Chaos Space Marines 40k Christmas Box Values & Pricing
The Cult of Destruction is focused on guns, daemon engines, and a Warpsmith whose whole job is keeping the scrap-metal running long enough to flatten whatever’s across the table. If your Iron Warriors have been waiting for a reason to roll the siege train out, this is it.
Between the Defiler, a Venomcrawler, two Obliterators, five Havocs, three Mutilators, and the Warpsmith, this box feels like GW asked what a Chaos gun line looks like and then forgot to stop adding things.

Is This Chaos Space Marines Box Worth It?
Well, you’re getting around $154.50 in savings with the Cult of Destruction, and that’s the best number we’ve seen out of any of the 2026 Christmas boxes. Plus, the Defiler has been notoriously hard to get, so just being able to get the kit makes this worth it.
The Defiler alone runs $151 on its own, so you’re already more than halfway to the box price before you’ve even clipped a Havoc off the sprue. Honestly, that’s the kind of math that makes Chaos players start clearing shelf space.
This is an easy box to grab. The only real catch is that most of the value is wrapped up in the Defiler, but who doesn’t want one?
How Many Points Is This?
We would guess the Chaos Space Marines Battleforce points are somewhere around 950, depending on the current points.
What to Buy Next?
If you want the Cult of Destruction to feel like a full army instead of a very angry artillery park, start with a squad or two of Legionaries or Cultists so you’ve got enough bodies to hold objectives while your Havocs and Obliterators do the shooting.
After that, a Chaos Lord or Master of Possession gives you a leader for that infantry, because the Warpsmith is going to be busy babysitting the Defiler.
Finally, add another big threat like a Forgefiend, Maulerfiend, or Predator, depending on what your army needs and how your 11th Edition list shakes out, so the Defiler isn’t the only thing your opponent has to worry about.
Final Thoughts on the Chaos Space Marines Cult of Destruction Christmas Box
The Chaos Space Marines Battleforce looks like the box to beat this Christmas, and if GW holds it at $265, we’d guess plenty of traitor players grab one (or two) before the Black Friday rush hits. A Defiler, a Venomcrawler, and a pile of heavy-weapons infantry is the start of a real army, not a sampler.
Keep an eye on the official price, though. GW hasn’t confirmed anything yet, and if this one lands higher than the other boxes, those savings start shrinking fast. Either way, if you’ve been on the fence about starting Chaos (or an Iron Warriors siege army), this is the time to jump in.
