Space Marines Outriders are getting a new multipart kit after the Imperium beat the Orks in Week 1 of the Siege of Death Mire campaign and claimed the Outer Walls.
The Orks had one job in Week 1, and they didn’t get it done. GW tied the Siege of Death Mire campaign results to weekly model reveals, and the Imperium took the first round. That means the first unlocked kit is a new multipart Space Marines Outriders box.
The Siege of Death Mire campaign launched with the Armageddon box, with the Outer Walls as the first battle zone. If you missed how it works, here’s a quick overview: players submit their Warhammer 40k games online, the weekly results are counted, and the winning side gets a reveal. Week 1 went to the Imperium, so the Outer Walls belong to the Space Marines, for now.
For Space Marines players following the 11th Edition refresh, this is the Outriders update that’s been in the rumor mill for a while (basically since we saw the push-fit kit back in 2020). The old three-bike $65 box was limited, with fixed poses and a sergeant who didn’t have much going on. This new kit finally gives the unit more build options.
Week 2 has another reveal attached to it, so Ork players still have two more chances to get something out of this campaign.
Imperium Took Week 1 and Earned the Outriders Reveal
- Imperial Week 1 Win: The Imperium took the Outer Walls, stopped the first Ork push, and unlocked the first campaign reveal.
- New Outriders Kit: The new multipart Space Marines Outriders kit includes sergeant weapon options and new leaning bike poses.
- Week 2 Stakes: The campaign moves to The Cloisters near the Gallows Spaceport, with another reveal and a 1,000-point army prize draw on the line.

The sergeant is the main upgrade so far, as the old kit gave him a chainsword and bolt pistol, and that was basically it. The new kit lets you build him with a thunder hammer, power axe, or power sword. That’s a fairly small change, but it makes the squad much less repetitive on the table.
The bikes also get better posing. Each one can lean left or right, so the unit should look less like three copies of the same model. That was one of the biggest complaints with the original kit, especially for players who wanted a full squad that didn’t look cloned.
So, if you skipped Outriders because the old kit was too static, this version fixes the most obvious problem, but let’s be honest, it isn’t blowing anyone away as a brand-new miniatures kit… Still, the new weapon options help it feel more interesting.
Week 2 Moves to The Cloisters With More on the Line
With the Outer Walls decided, the Death Mire campaign now moves to The Cloisters. This is the shanty town between the Tempestor Victorum line and the heart of the hive, right in front of the Gallows Spaceport.
The Spaceport is the bigger objective, becasue controls supply and transport for both sides, and GW is counting that result only from games submitted at local Warhammer stores. Online games still matter for the wider campaign, but the Spaceport is being pushed through in-store play only. We’ll have to see how many people this pushes to GW stores; participation could go either way, really.
That gives Week 2 a little more weight, though, because if Ork players want a reveal, this is the week to put results on the board. With the Orks codex dropping first for the 11th Edition, the army has the tools; it just needs the results now.
How to Submit Results (And Maybe Win a 1,000-Point Army)

That gives players room to shape the narrative too. Things like a “Drukhari raid” could weaken Imperial supply lines, or a “Tyranid attack” could wipe out Ork reinforcements. The result just needs to be dedicated to one side of the campaign.
GW is also running a prize draw for online submissions, with 40 1,000-point armies of new Marines or Orks miniatures up for grabs. That’s definitely a solid reason to log your games, even if you’re not really playing for the campaign result, and just the 11th Edition refresh. Either way, a free 1,000-point army is a pretty big bonus.
Final Thoughts on the New Space Marines Outriders Kit
Besides the preview, the bigger picture is how GW is handling the campaign. Each week has a reveal tied to the winner, so the results actually affect what gets shown next. Week 1 gave the Imperium the new Outriders kit. Week 2 and Week 3 should do the same for whichever side wins.
It’s likely these reveals are tied to the 11th Edition Space Marines and Orks refresh waves GW has already promised. So, more than likely, the next unlock is probably another kit that’s been sitting somewhere in the rumor pile too.
If Orks want something out of this campaign, they need to start winning. If the Imperium continues submitting results as it did in Week 1, Space Marines may continue to see reveals.
Regardless, the next result lands on Sunday, and that decides what GW shows next.
