Perfect Fit: Re-Formatted 10th Edition 40k Index Cards for Hassle-Free Printing

    40k-index-card-print-outs-downloads-datasheers-data-10th-Edition

GW confirmed the actual size of the cards is 190 x 126mm, which is bigger than the existing AoS warscroll cards and is the actual print size of the free pdf downloads (roughly one per standard printer paper size). This means printing out your entire army of cards will take up all kinds of paper and ink and may be hard to carry around!

With over 100 cards for certain armies (we’re looking at you, Space Marines), the existing sizes from GW could make this worse than carrying codexes around!

Free Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules: (July 25, 2023)

    warhammer-legends-index-card-downloads

Legends are fully usable in all of your regular games of Warhammer 40,000 – in fact, we actively encourage you to use these classic miniatures at home, in store, and at your local Warhammer clubs.

As they said, all friendly games can use these models; it’s just the fact they won’t get too much more support than this in terms of rules. So, hopefully, you like the cards!

    Points Values

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 2They are giving out the points for all the Legends for free, and as expected, the Space Marines get hit the hardest with tons of models. You can download all the points here!

    Proxies List

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 3

There’s an extra document that explains how to use some models from the Heretic Astartes list in your more specialised Thousand Sons, World Eaters, and Death Guard armies – so that Khornate Hell Blade you have on your shelf can still take to the skies.

This document also includes a lengthy “counts as” list for units that don’t have specific rules of their own. Your Whirlwind Hyperios is now a Whirlwind, while your Renegade Command Squad becomes a Dark Commune. Simple!

This list is quite long, but it is nice to have some confirmation on what you can use your minis for if you don’t want to replace them with newer stuff. You can download the whole proxies list here.

Now, let’s check out the individual factions.

Space Marines 40k Legends Index Cards Downloads

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 4The Space Marines get the second most units moving to Legends, with 45 pages worth (not including the other chapters). Considering there are so many rules, we’re not going to cover all of them, but if you want to download all of them, you can here!

    Other Space Marines Chapters

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 5Three of the main chapters are all getting a single additional unit moving to Legends, so nothing too crazy, but you can download the other chapters’ units here.

Adepta Sororitas 40k Legends Index Cards Downloads

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 6

They only have two units hitting the list, but it’s good to know what’s going to Legends; you can download the rules here.

Adeptus Mechanicus 40k Legends Index Cards Downloads

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 7

They get a single unit, and you can download the rules here.

Aeldari 40k Legends Index Cards Downloads

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 8They have the third-longest list of units going to Legends, with over 20 pages worth of cards. You can download all of them here.

Agents of the Imperium 40k Legends Index Cards Downloads

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 9Agents get a decent list of models going to Legends with 11 pages worth. You can download all of them here.

Astra Militarum 40k Legends Index Cards Downloads

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 10Imperial Guard, unfortunately, has the biggest list of models moving to legend, with well over 60 pages worth of index cards. You can download all of them here.

Chaos Daemons 40k Legends Index Cards Downloads

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 11They have a lot of units hitting Legends, which means fewer named Daemons. You can download all the rules here.

Chaos Space Marines 40k Legends Index Cards Downloads

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 12Chaos Space Marines get about 44 pages worth of index cards, taking away a lot of the more obscure units and characters. You can download all the rules here.

    Drukhari 40k Legends

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 13They only get two units, but the Reaper has been a favorite for a long time, so it’s sad to see it go. You can download all the rules here.

    Genestealer Cults 40k Legends

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 14They get a single unit this time, so nothing too crazy. You can download the rules here.

    Grey Knights 40k Legends

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 15They get some big units going to Legends, which is a little sad to see. You can download all the rules here.

    Necrons 40k Legends

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 16The Necrons get four units going to Legends, so nothing too crazy compared to the other factions. You can download all the rules here.

    Orks 40k Legends

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 17Orks get 32 pages of units, so another faction getting very trimmed down. You can download all the rules here.

    Tau 40k Legends

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 18For a newish faction, they get a decent number of units going to Legends. You can download all the rules here.

    Tyranids 40k Legends

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 19A little surprisingly, they only get 3 units going to Legends. You can download all the rules here.

    Unaligned Forces 40k Legends

Warhammer 40k Legends Index Cards 20Some other random units are going to Legends, and a lot of the holdouts of terrain seem to be joining the list.

You can download all the rules here.

Free Horus Heresy Legends Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

The latest on Horus Heresy Legends Models free 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Index Cards rules downloads comes from Warhammer Community.

Horus Heresy Legends 10th Edition 40k Rules

As with other Warhammer Legends units, these venerable vehicles are still usable in matched play and Crusade games of Warhammer 40,000, but they are not recommended for use in a competitive tournament setting.

As we said, you can still use these in home games, just not tournaments. So, if you love the models, you can use them with your friends, etc. If you don’t remember everything that was moved to Legends, here’s the list:

    HH Models 40k Legends 3

    • Leviathan, Contemptor, and Deredeo Dreadnoughts
    • Kratos, Sicaran, Spartan, Cerberus, and Typhon Tanks
    • Certain variants of the Land Raider, the Vindicator, and the Whirlwind
    • Xiphon Interceptors, Fire Raptors, Storm Eagles, and Storm Birds
    • Legion Support Weapons
    • Fellblades, Falcions, Mastodons
    • Javelins, Dreadnoughts and Deathstorm Drop Pods
    • Secutarii Hoplites and Peltasts, and Terrax-pattern Termites
    • Decimators, Greater Blight Drones, Blood Slaughterers, Greater Brass Scorpions, Kytan Ravagers, the Kharybdis Assault Claw, and the Dreadclaw Drop Pod

Imperial Armour Units, That are also in the Horus Heresy

(for use in matched and narrative play, including competitive events)

    • Adeptus Custodes units
    • Imperial Knights

Space Marines Rules Free Horus Heresy Legends Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

Horus Heresy Legends 10th Edition 40k Rules 2

The Space Marines get the most units moving to Legends, with 60 pages worth. So, if you have any of the HH models, they are probably included. Considering there are so many rules, we’re not going to cover all of them, but if you want to download all of them, you can here!

Heretic Astartes Free Horus Heresy Legends Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

Horus Heresy Legends 10th Edition 40k Rules 3These are all going to be really strong as they all get Dark Pact, but we’ll have to get them on the tabletop and see!

They also don’t have all the rules for Sicarns, Leviathans, and such, but we assume you can change the keywords around as they previously mentioned.

Horus Heresy Legends 10th Edition 40k Rules 5They also have the rules to include them in other legions, and if you want them to download all the Chaos rules, you can here!

Adeptus Mechanicus Free Horus Heresy Legends Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

Horus Heresy Legends 10th Edition 40k Rules 4Adeptus Mechanicus er Mechanicum has the smallest legends list, with only six pages. Still, if you have any of the units, you want to know what they can do. You can download all those rules here!

Overall, it will be sad not to see these models in a competitive setting, but it may be better to see Games Workshop making sustainable changes regardless of what players want.

All the Xenos Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules: Datasheets & Index Cards Downloads

The new Xenos faction Warhammer 40k faction index card rules downloads for Necrons, Dark Eldar (Drukhari), Eldar, Orks, Genestealer Cults, Tau, and Leagues of Votann are located on Warhammer Community.

    Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules

The galaxy is crawling with xenos threats who are quite happy to take advantage of the Tyranid attack on the Imperium in order to press their own agendas. The T’au, the Aeldari, and the rest are all making their play, whether that be for conquest or sheer survival.

    T’au Empire 10th Edition 40k Rules

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 2In a thematic shift, this new set of spotters and shooters makes for an interesting system! Getting +1 to BS and Ignoring Cover are also great bonuses for nearly your entire army! That being said, straying from your target and getting -1 BS is enough of a downside to creating tough decisions.

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 3Sustained hits are bonus hits on 6s, meaning tons of Tau will get two extra hits on 6s after the third round, from the sounds of it.  If their opponent is lucky, a lot of their army will hopefully be dead by then. Otherwise, things may escalate quickly from there…

You can download all the Tau 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community here!

    Aeldari 10th Edition 40k Rules

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 4From how this works, you might as well keep re-rolling until you get as many 6’s as possible, considering you want to roll high for everything now. It might be an annoying mechanic for your opponent, as before the game starts, you could technically have 12 dice rolls.

Plus, if you manage to roll twelve 5’s and 6’s, this will be pretty strong. Even some 4’s thrown in there wouldn’t be too bad.

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 5Re-rolling is always strong, and getting to re-roll for your whole army is fantastic, especially since it is for hits and wounds. Then, if you’re playing Dark Eldar or Ynnari, you can include different units from the other factions, Harlequins, or Anhrathe.

You can download all the Eldar 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community here!

    Drukhari 10th Edition 40k Rules

    Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 6

Power From Pain is being changed quite a lot. However, it might be easier to remember all the effects now, but losing Feel No Pain for such a lightly armored army might be pretty harsh. Now, you can use the tokens to re-roll advance, charge moves or get full hit re-rolls.

This is pretty cool, but losing the FNP might be huge.

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 7With how the new detachments work, you can more or less take anything you want, so you do get some advantage for fielding all three of these units.

You can download all the Dark Eldar 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community here!

Genestealer Cults Datasheets & Index Cards

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 10Well, this is super strong, as you can get all your battleline units back on a 2+! Just be sure to put them far enough away from enemies that they can’t move to within 9″ of them as you set them up after the enemy’s movement phase.

This means they will also have another turn to be shot at again, but they can just come back again. It’s nice to still be able to include Imperial Guard units in your armies, and with tanks getting better, you might as well grab a few to bring to battle!

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 11It makes sense as your army arrives from the depths; they would be better at fighting as they just joined the fray and took the enemy by surprise!

You can download all the GSC 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community here!

    Orks Datasheets & Index Cards

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 12This is now at the start of a battle round, so if you’re going second, as they say, you can actually call this down on the first turn to save your army from an alpha strike list.

Then use it on your turn to either get stuck in faster and give your entire army more strength and attacks!

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 13For Orks, this is huge because you’re going to have a ton of attacks, and getting two hits for every six in combat is just always awesome!

You can download all the Orks 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community here!

Leagues of Votann 10th Edition 40k Rules

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 14There are also other special rules to give Judgement Tokens (like below), but if a unit gets two put on them, you should be able to blast them off the table!

Xenos 10th Edition 40k Rules 15This is very interesting, where you have to balance how hard of a unit to destroy you want to give the tokens to. If you put them on the biggest, baddest unit from the enemy, you’ll have a much better shot at destroying them. However, it might take a lot longer, and you’ll get fewer CP.

Imperium Factions 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Index Card Rules Downloads

The new Imperium faction Warhammer 40k faction index card rules downloads for Imperial Knights, Adeptus Mechanicus, Custodes, Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum,) Sisters of Battle (Adepta Sorotitas), Grey Knights and Imperial Agents are located on Warhammer Community.

    Imperial Units Rules 10th Edition

As good as they are, the Space Marines can’t hold back the entire tide of Tyranid swarms, Chaos-worshipping traitors, and other alien hordes on their own – they need reinforcements. The new edition of Warhammer 40,000 is here, and the armoured might of the Imperium has mustered. Today’s download release features all six remaining Imperial factions, each with army rules and full Detachments, plus an extra set of Index cards for the Imperial Agents so you can add a cheeky Inquisitor or Assassin to your force.

Plenty of Imperial factions are out there to keep the galaxy free of Chaos and Xenos! Considering there are so many rules, we’ll be looking at the army rules, and you can check out the full rules at the end of each section.

Grey Knights 10th Edition 40k Rules

Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules

This is awesome because it seems like every turn, you can reposition a ton of units and get them into the thick of things! If you happen to get outmaneuvered, it won’t be that way for long! However, you do have to drop them down in your next movement phase, so no leaving them in the sky. Three units a turn is insane and should make Grey Knights quite fun.

    Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules 2

Next, they can advance super quickly and actually count as flying, so they can move over all kinds of stuff. Plus, with the extra 6″, they should be able to clear more things with the new rules for moving diagonally in the air.

You can download all the Grey Knights 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community here!

Astra Militarum 10th Edition 40k Rules

Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules 3The characters will also buff the unit they are with, and then you’ll also be able to issue orders, so make sure to take those characters. There are some old classics here, and they can buff up your units.

Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules 4This is a giant army-wide buff, as this also works for tanks, so giving a keyword to your entire army potentially is enormous!

You can download all the Imperil Guard 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community

Adepta Sororitas 10th Edition 40k Rules

Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules 5It looks like Miracle Dice are going to stick around in 10th. Sisters players will get one every turn and then whenever their units are destroyed, but there are plenty of rules to gain more dice.

You can use them for a lot of things, but now, you want to roll high for everything (including LD now), so the rolls of one may have less of a place in 10th Edition than before…

Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules 6This really makes your units way stronger after losing a few models, so get stuck in the fighting!

You can download all the Sisters of Battle 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community, here!

    Adeptus Custodes Index Cards

    Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules 7

If you are charged with some deadly units, the Kaptaris Stance is the way to go! If you need to cut through hordes, Dacatari is perfect, and lastly, if you need to kill big stuff, Rendax is excellent. This is nice because it’s pretty simple, and each has a specific use.

    Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules 8

This is super nice, as you don’t have many minis, and getting a 4+ Fell No Pain (FNP) for all mortal wounds will give you a save against basically anything your opponent throws at you. Plus, most models already have an invulnerable save as well, so they are pretty stout on defense.

You can download all the Adeptus Custodes i40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community, here!

    Imperial Knights Index Cards

Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules 11Not only do you get a buff just for picking an Oath, but if you succeed, you gain 3 Command Points! So you better follow your oath. Re-rolling on such big models is excellent, and with your opponent’s warlord already dead, this ability should help finish them off.

However, adding to your move, charge rolls, and advance rolls is super beneficial. Hopefully, this deed is easier to achieve (depending on your army), considering a Knight’s OC is so high. Then, you can buff up your Questoris Knights, move over models, and then take Freeblades still.

Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules 12With this in mind, you want to finish your deed as fast as possible because a 5+FNP for your whole army is really strong.

You can download all the Imperial Knights 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community, here!

    Imperial Agents Index Cards

Imperium Factions 10th Edition 40k Rules 13For 2,000 points, you can take two characters and two retinue units, which could be a pretty big part of your army. You also can not elect to have your army led by an Assassin operative.

Chaos Factions Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

The new Chaos Space Marines, Knights, Daemons, Death Guard, World Eaters, and Thousand Sons 10th Edition 40k index datasheet cards rules downloads are located on Warhammer Community.

We’ll start with the CSM rules, but there are six factions this time, and we’ll cover all of them!

    Chaos Space Marines Index rules

This is pretty insane, as every unit in your army (with the keyword) can get huge buffs. Plus, all you have to do is pass an LD test, and even the Legionaries have  LD6+, meaning you should statistically pass, and even if you do fail, it should only be one model falling.

This is very interesting, and while Games Workshop said this is really the first rule we’ve seen that could slow the game down, taking tons of LD tests every turn might take some serious time.

Next up, it’s interesting you can include some units from the other factions, but it is limited based on the game size.

Chaos Space Marines Index Cards Warhammer Community Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 2This makes Dark Pacts even better, as each god gives you another set of buffs!

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 3Chaos Space Marines also have their own version of Armour of Contempt, and Profane Zeal will make Chaos Undivided units super strong for only 1 CP! Then, attacking with slain models on a 3+ (for Khorne) is always fun.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 4Skinshift can be super strong if you have some expensive units. Then, it looks like each god will have a single stratagem that is better for them than the rest.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 5Lastly, you can add a bunch of enhancements to make your characters far stronger.

If you want to download all the new Chaos Space Marines 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free from Warhammer Community, you can here!

Chaos Daemons Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 6This is pretty wild as it’s army-wide, and if you can run up some units to take those objectives, this will be a massive buff for your army and a big NERF for the enemy.  Not only do you get better LD, but you also regain wounds!

Then, your enemy gets worse LD and loses wounds, on top of already failing a battle-shock test. We could see where some people may get a little upset by the point amounts, but this lets you take basically 25% of your CHAOS army as Daemons.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 7This is pretty wild, making charging in with your deep-striking units an actual statistical probability. If you can go up, get some objectives, then deep strike in and get off a bunch of charges, it can be a decisive swing turn.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 8Warp Surge will let you sprint up the field and charge after advancing, you can control objectives without staying on it, and you can set units from deepstrike anywhere you want!

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 9The Realm of Chaos is fantastic, as it lets you redeploy two units, and most importantly, you do this at the end of the opponent’s turn, meaning you can then deep strike on your turn and only be 6″ away! Then, re-rolling 1’s to save is just amazing.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 10Each god gets one enhancement, which is pretty flavorful to them.

If you want all the new Daemons 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free, hit the Warhammer Community downloads page right here!

Death Guard Marines Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 11By the 3rd battle round, you will have a giant ring of contagion. At that point, almost every enemy unit will have -1 Toughness which will be a massive boon for a lot of Death Guard shooting!

When they close the gap in an assault, Death Guard units will now have the upper hand against equally equipped units.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 12This is a really cool rule and far better than most armies’ for holding objectives after they walk off them. Plus, with it having Nurgle’s Gift, enemies trying to take it will be weaker to reprisals!

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 13Ferric Blight can turn your normal guns quite strong, and Sanguous Flux can give you all sorts of extra hits.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 14Boilblight should give you better chances to hit and ignore cover, and Cloud of Flies makes your units harder to kill!

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 15A lot of the enhancements are debuffs for your opponents, but the Deadly Pathogen will increase your strength and attacks a lot.

If you want all the new Death Guard 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs for free, hit the Warhammer Community Downloads page right here!

Thousand Sons Index Cards Warhammer Community Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 16It’s nice to see them giving a psychic feel to the army, considering psychic is more or less gone. You can see on the datasheets how many cabal points units generate, and you should have a decent amount every turn.

Some exciting powers are possible here, such as re-rolling critical saving throws for cheap, moving units in the shooting phase, getting free stratagems, dealing mortals, or the one that is insane, negating all armor!

While it takes 9 points, getting rid of armor saves is wild, but you can still take invulnerable saves from how it reads.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 17This makes your psychic weapons even better, and depending on what you’re trying to take down that turn, you can choose the proper ability for the job!

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 18Destined By Fate is insane for only 1 CP, as weapons have gone up so much in strength and damage, and you can ignore it (it’s also after failing your save). Then, they obviously have a ton of Stratagems for psychic powers and weapons.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 19Both Sorcerous Might and Warp Sight will make your psychic weapons even more potent!

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 20Lastly, you can pick more Rituals, can more Cabal Points, buff up your weapons, or teleport your units around!

If you want all the new Thousand Sons 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs, hit the Warhammer Community Downloads page, right here!

World Eaters Index Cards Warhammer Community Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 21

When you roll for the Blessings of Khorne each turn, any doubles will let you use different abilities. Some of these are super strong, and with the randomness of having to roll doubles, hopefully, you can get the blessings you want!

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 22This makes sense for Khorne, so be sure to get those charges off.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 23As you would guess, their stratagems focus on combat and strengthening your blessings.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 24Having something that keeps objectives after you leave is great for World Eaters, as you can sprint everything forward!

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 25Favoureds of Khorne is super strong as it lets you keep all your other re-rolls. Then, you can get more attacks and damage or protect yourself with half damage!

If you want all the new World Eaters 40k 10th Edition datasheets index cards PDFs hit the Warhammer Community Downloads page right here!

Chaos Knights Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 26Not only will you be better at battle-shocking units, but you will wound them better and be harder to hit back! So, try and spread that fear around for some big bonuses.

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 27This is big as you cause tests just for having one casualty or suffered one wound, so that’s pretty huge and can really throw a wrench in your opponent’s plans. Also, remember they will be -1 on the test, per the Despair aura!

Chaos Space Marines Index rules 28Any buff on a Knight model is enormous, as they are already so strong. This time, they get a ton of stuff for creating more LD tests and battle-shocking units!
