GW Starts Sanguinius Dead or Alive Speculation?

By James Rodriguez | December 3rd, 2017 | Categories: Blood Angels, Tabletop Gaming News, Warhammer 40k

Sanguinius in battleToday the internet is rife with speculation that Sanguinius may not be dead due to something Warhammer TV had to say when asked about him.

Chapter Master Valrak put out a new video with stating there may be a chance that Sanguinius is still alive.

Game Developer Wade Price was on Warhammer TV last Friday taking questions from the community and made a comment that may have been nothing, or it could accidentally hint that Sanguinius is still alive.

Wade Price was asked by a user in their chat why Sanguinius can’t take a jetpack, but he corrected it later asking why Mephiston couldn’t take it.

Wade Price Interview

At 47:07 in the Warhammer TV stream Wade Price replied “Because he’s dead? Is that a joke? Am I missing it? Is there a punchline there? Cause he’s in a stasis thing.” Then he mumbles “No, no, he’s in a stasis thing, he’s a mess, he’s in a bad way.”

It really seemed like he was more confused than anything and the rumormill is trying to make more out of it than what is actually there. Sanguinius was killed by Horus during the Horus Heresy and was then laid to rest in the Golden Sacrophagus.

sanguinius lore

So was it all just confusion from the question that was asked? Or does this present the idea that Sanguinius may just be making a return on some point? Is Games Workshop in the process of  is gw in the process of retconning their own lore again, and forgot to tell their hosts?
