Which Armiger Should You Field in 40k? Showcase
The Armiger was released initially in the Forgebane box set with a melee and shooting weapon. After that, we saw it get more upgrades for a shooting variant as well (if you need upgrade parts, check out Shapeways).
This model is fantastic as a small knight with some absolutely great tabletop potential. Take a look at this quick showcase of the Armiger itself.
This Knight has many similar elements to other Knight models and includes the opportunity for magnetization. This particular knight was painted by Spikey Bit’s own Tim in the studio. This showcases the use of oil washes, which give some fantastic effects. Some effects and rust bits are completed by pigments interacting with oil washes.
The weapon was done with the sweet heats triad from Secret Weapon Miniatures. The top star was painted on via stencil as well. Overall, this model looks fantastic and can pack a good punch for its size.
The new Knight Armiger comes in two forms, the Warglaive and Helverin. The Warglaive is equipped with a reaper chain-cleaver, thermal spear, and heavy stubber. It can replace the heavy stubber with a meltagun. The Helverin is equipped with two autocannons and heavy stubber, which can also be replaced by a meltagun. The Helverin ignores penalty to hit rolls for moving and firing heavy weapons with its autocannons.
Overall, the Armiger has 12 wounds and is, at base, strength 6 and toughness 7. There are some useful stratagems for these small knights, depending on which House you choose. Overall, these small knights can be very useful in different lists.
