GW Previewing More New Space Marines In August!

More new Primaris Space Marines are on the way, as Games Workshop promises a big reveal this Saturday, August 3rd on GenCon weekend.

Remember when Warhammer Community revealed a video of Primaris models that were intentionally blurred? While we can’t pick out the fine details, it looks like all of these sculpts are new!

New Primaris Models: Vehicles, Infantry & More SPOTTED?

The video is short and all of the new models are bunched up in the right-hand corner of the screen but like we said before, it’s not easy to tell that these are all new models. Going from left to right, there is a handful of new Infantry units that look to have some kind of banner and robe on the front character. This could be some kind of new Primaris Librarian but it’s not been confirmed.

Primaris Hover-Whirlwind?

Rhino MKIIc

Next, there looks to be an obvious Rhino chassis converted to some kind of hover platform. You can tell it’s a hover tank because it has the Repulsor grav-plates underneath as well as a base it’s sitting on top of. If you look on the sides, you can also see some sponsons that looks to be maybe loaded with missiles. Maybe this is a new Primaris version of the Whirlwind.

New Eliminator Kits?

Next, the guy in the video pointed at the three Marines all the way to the right calling them Snipers. The only squad of Primaris Marines we know of that roll in a group of three are the Eliminators. This might be a first-hand look at their new multi-weapon kit we’ve been expecting after the Las-fusils weapon option was previewed in 40k Apocalypse.

A Light Redemptor?

Redemptor Dreadnought

Next, there’s an obvious Redemptor Dreadnought variant that looks to have some kind of roll cage on the front where the Marine is plugged in. Even though the image is blurred out, we can make out some minor details that look like it’ll be a skinnier (probably lighter/faster) version of the Redemptor.

And lastly, the final frame of the video shows someone pointing to a new model which we’re guessing is a Reiver-ish Lieutenant popping a smoke grenade. He’s got a combat blade out and has the classic half-face mask that most Reivers wear.

Games Workshop Hinted At a New Preview

biggest battle

Warhammer Community made an announcement that they will be hosting a huge Apocalypse game at Warhammer World on August 3rd, 2019. However at the bottom of the post, Games Workshop left us with this:

The Warhammer Record Biggest Game at Warhammer World this Saturday is going to be a blast.* We’d love to see you there and there are some tickets remaining, so you still have a chance to join the BIGGEST GAME EVER – not to mention the other Apocolypse-themed activities, including lunch, a pub quiz, and a special Warhammer Preview.

Speaking of “special Warhammer Preview” This Primaris Lieutenant artwork that was first spotted in the blurry preview of new models popped up as well.

New Reiver Character Spotted

Also spotted on the Primaris Lieutenant Twitter account, a new character-looking Reiver Lieutenant was unblurred from the initial video.

Note what looks to be an open smoke grenade at his feet. Is that the missing Rumor Engine bit we have been trying to place since last September?

A lot of you thought this smoke grenade was to the Infiltrator model out of the Shadowspear box. However, it looks like this could be a better match! A side view would really help though.

All in all, we’ve got a lot of excitement just ahead for Space Marine players. While we wait for the previews, what would you like to see Primaris Marines get next? What unit type would make them more competitive? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group, and sign up to get your free hobby updates newsletter each morning as well!
