Love GW miniatures? Get the latest on what all the new releases that were previewed by Games Workshop this week at LVO 2020!
If you missed it, Games Workshop previewed more of their 2020 releases at LVO, the Las Vegas Open.
Las Vegas Open 2020
We saw a ton of previews already from GW for the 2020 release calendar at the new years open, and have been hearing a ton of rumors about new point elves, Psychic Awakening and more.
Ghazghkull Thraka Is Getting A New 40k Model!
Most likely releasing with the Saga of the Beast Supplement in March, Ghazhkull Thraka and his sidekick the luckiest grot ever, Makari are getting a new model each.
Whoa, right? Let’s run it all down real quick.
You may remember the little guy from Ghaz’s first model in the late 80s:
New and improved Makari! Woot! And then there is his “sidekick”:

Surprise More New Adeptus Mechanicus Coming in 2020!

Cult Mechanicus Archaeopter Stratoraptor & Transvector
Back in November, out of nowhere, the Adeptus Mechanicus got a new model!
“It’s not just the Ecclesiarchy that will be receiving reinforcements – the Tech Adepts of Mars are preparing to unleash their latest creation on the enemies of the Omnissiah. Look to the skies, for the Archaeopter is on its way!”
This archaic-looking aircraft can be assembled in one of three patterns – a gunship, bomber or transport variant – and will provide your Adeptus Mechanicus forces with a suite of new tactical options.
Looks like a few Rumor Engines have been identified including one of the most popular ones in recent memory, the revolving bomb rack!
Hobby heroes Sprues & Brews and Garro were at the event and shared some great pictures of the model as well:
As seen above the Archaeopter is coming with two variants. Here the transport version (what we assume is the “transvector”) appears to be on a knight sized 170mm large oval with a new flying stem of sorts.

Serberys: Sulphurhounds & Raiders
Now the Adeptus Mechanicus are getting even more new goodies! Here are the latest reveals from LVO 2020:

It would appear that these new units both come from the same kit, but act different enough that they didn’t just want the weapons to be wargear options. Perhaps, they have different special rules depending on which variant you decide on; Combat or shooting?
Pteraxii

Based on their appearance, I think it’s fair to say these may behave like faster, shorter range snipers. Perhaps they may have movement abilities and hopefully the ability to target characters through troops!
All of the rules for these units and the Archaeopter we saw earlier will be in an upcoming Psychic Awakening: Engine War.
Psychic Awakening: Engine War

Not much to say about it yet, but now that we know about it, we can expect to hear more news and hints about rules soon! Look for this to arrive in April if it follows March’s Saga of the Beast.
High Elves No More: Lumineth Realm-lords & Teclis Revealed

Warhammer Community dropped an unexpected surprise on AoS fans with a preview of what looks to be Teclis’ weapons. We’ll be breaking everything down. But first, in case you missed the first reveal we’ve got the highlights here for you.
Coming from Warhammer TV, it’s obvious that GW isn’t trying to hide what’s on the way to Age of Sigmar. The voice in the video even said “If you like Aelves, there are good things right around the corner”.

High Aelves Coming Back: Teclis’ Weapon Bits REVEALED

With the Aelven leader/god coming back into the picture, who knows what other kinds of models and updated rules lie in wait for us. Kicking off 2020 with a bang, it looks like Age of Sigmar is about to get a fan favorite army overhauled!

With the past reveals in mind today they gave us, even more, teases regarding the Lumineth Realm-lords. Including a full reveal of Teclis’ model!
Vanari Auralan Wardens

First up for “Pointy Aelves” they give us a look at the new spearmen! These may be the standard battleline of the faction, but there is no lack of detail and symbology on each of these guys.
Vanari Dawnriders

Now, they could have been just talking about the lore and the models. However, I think this may be a hint at perhaps some unique rules! Maybe this new calvary will have the ability to disengage after combat and prepare to charge again the next turn?
The Light of Eltharion

The comment about the hollow armor adds an interesting twist to Eltharions return. It suggests that maybe this is just a manifestation or even a conjuration by Teclis! While we don’t know much about the new lore or model, we do know that Eltharion was exceptional at killing Orks and encouraged his people to improve their defenses in the past.
Teclis

Last up is the top dog himself, the Aelven God Teclis. While they didn’t give many hints on rules, we do know about his ascension. Hopefully, he will be able to stand his ground versus Nagash and Archaon. Whether that will be via magic or fighting prowess, we don’t really know yet. He has in the past been known for magic, so that will definitely play a part in his update!

Angels of Death in 2018

‘Angels of Death’, will follow the visceral exploits of a band of Blood Angels Space Marines as they face Mankind’s enemies, death and worse – the dreaded Black Rage. To ensure the story is suitably grimdark, we’ve called upon the talents of some of Black Library’s finest authors. Together, they’re forging an epic tale for the animators to realise.
GW Brings Fans into Collaboration

Speaking of which, some of you might be familiar with the Helsreach fan film, based on the Black Library novel of the same name. If you thought that was cool, you were right! We enjoyed it so much that we knew we had to team up with the very same team to deliver Angels of Death.
Our first teaser trailer came in 2018 from Warhammer TV along with the initial announcement, showing a decent bit of work had already been done.
Warhammer Open 2019 Announcement-Films to Come
For 2019, Warhammer TV also gave us a good mix of all their film projects. From Warhammer Adventures to Angels of Death, there were new snippets of the 40k short film that you could watch. These are all in addition to the announcement trailer.
Written by the Warhammer Story Forge (more on those fine wordsmiths soon), Angels of Death is being animated in collaboration with Richard Boylan and Boman Modine. Some of you may remember Richard’s striking and atmospheric work from the fan-made animation of the Helsreach audiobook, and Richard and Boman collaborated on Guardsman. Alongside the Warhammer Story Forge, the team is creating something really special – an all-new Blood Angels story brought to visceral life. This is the 41st Millennium you always dreamed of seeing on screen.
The first full trailer for Angels of Death will be with us in January – due to debut at the Las Vegas Open Warhammer Preview.
GW is Right on Time: Latest AoD Trailer Announced At LVO

It’s important to note also that for those at the event, GW showed them a slightly longer trailer. If you’ve got a buddy that sat inside the preview hall, you might want to take him out to lunch and hear how it all went down.
As a special treat for attendees – they did come all the way out to Vegas to show their love for Warhammer, after all – we showed them a slightly longer cut. There will be more for everyone to look at soon…
With GW also announcing that more would be on the way soon, the heat is really beginning to turn up for Angels of Death.
GW Reveals Seraphon Getting New Model & Battletome
When AoS first dropped, Seraphon were sitting as one of the oldest armies at the highest tiers in terms of competitiveness. Their spells and synergies were fantastic and they all came from old models. However, now it’s almost their time to shine once again. Warhammer Community just revealed what’s on the way to the faction from the 2020 LVO. Take a look at the latest!
Seraphon Warscroll Cards Spotted Early

GW Reveals Seraphon Getting New Model & Battletome
The new battletome fully explores the origins and nature of the Seraphon in the Mortal Realms. You’ll have the chance to find out how the original refugees from the world-that-was became the celestially charged Starborne, and how the Seraphon are changing into the Coalesced – whatever that means.
We can all probably agree that it was about time for Seraphon to have their time in the spotlight. And while Aelves (Lumineth Realm-lords) were also announced at the LVO, both factions are more than likely going to be hitting shelves almost back-to-back with each other.

Goats? Boats? No, Zoats in Blackstone Fortress!
If you like your Warhammer in Quest form, there are some exciting developments coming your way. Blackstone Fortress has given us the opportunity to populate its labyrinthine corridors with all manner of obscure beasties and beings. This latest addition just might be the most unexpected.
Early Zoat model
By now, you’re probably scratching your head wondering what a “Zoat” is and why it’s back…But a long time ago, they were actually a part of the Tyranids.
Back in the distant past of Warhammer 40,000 they were a race of strange creatures who served as heralds for the Tyranid Hive Fleets before disappearing, seemingly forever. (We all assumed they’d just been eaten…)

Sons of Behemat (sort of) & More Previews!
In the same video speaking about the Zoat for Blackstone Fortress, the design crew was mentioning (jokingly) releases that have just came out. However, one of the last answers was The Sons of Behemat. Which we heard just recently in a part of some shipping document rumors.
Could that have been GW throwing the rumor community a bone and nudging us that there is something else coming for Age of Sigmar?

And for those who don’t know already, Behemat is a massive godbeast from Ghur AKA FATHER OF THE GARGANTS!
Wurmspat Beastgrave Warband

Consisting of two Putrid Blightkings and Sorcerer Fecula Flyblown, this Warhammer Underworlds warband employs the unique play style of the Maggotkin of Nurgle – they’re durable, relentless and superb at wearing enemies down in a battle of attrition. Also, if you thought Nurglings were cute, check out this adorable little retchling!
Even if you’re not a fan of Warhammer Underworlds, these models might still be on your radar. Each one is packed with detail and could be a perfect alternate model for a Rotbringer Sorcerer or a Lord of Blights in AoS.
