Don’t miss the latest on all the previews and big reveals for new GW releases that Warhammer Community teased over the weekend!
The third week of the Biggest GW Previews ever are here! Rescheduled due to the cancelation of Adepticon, Games Workshop has revealed their latest news and previews on Twitch and Warhammer Community Saturday, April 18th.
Sure, we’ve seen a few models here and there over the past weeks, however here’s the latest look at all of what Preview 3 had to offer.
GW Previews 3: New Models For Psychic Awakening Pariah
A new Inquisitor with a shuriken weapon/ power fist, Necrons, as well as Ephrael Stern and her Harlequin sidekick are coming to 40k in the days ahead.
Necrons are starting off strong with a brand new Illuminor Szeras model! He’s been in need of a model update and he sure got one. If you look on the right side of the frame, you can see a mounted piece of a Noctilith stone to help throw a kink in the plans of Psykers.
Empyric Overcharger might not play a huge role when you go up against every army. However, with lists that run Psykers like Thousand Sons or Eldar, you’ll be able to cause a Perils of the Warp much easier.
Illuminor Szeras is a classic Necron Character given a new lease of life. For years, we’ve known him as a hellish experimenter, determined to perfect the living metal bodies of the Necrons. Now he’s given himself a serious upgrade. This new model truly reflects his terrifying splendour and alien majesty and is, we reckon, one of the best Necron models ever.
GW Previews 3: New Inquisitor- Kyria Draxus
With the Great Rift and the encroaching hordes of Chaos drawing their attention, the Imperium is ill-prepared for a resurgent Necron threat – but a few brave Inquisitors are ready to make a stand, foremost among them Lord Inquisitor Kyria Draxus.
If you didn’t know, Draxus is the narrator of most of the Psychic Awakening videos. She’s also been seen from the very earliest teasers of the Psychic Awakening expansion altogether.
She’s a brand new Inquisitor in some dope power armor that uses Eldar tech as well as having a power fist and a Xenos dragon thing named Shang. Is this heresy or something totally welcome that’s about the join the Imperium’s arsenal?
Despite all these new models on the way, we can’t let it distract us from what’s unfolding in Psychic Awakening. it’s safe to say that Szeras has been making some moves totally unchecked…Until now.
GW Unveils Two New MTO Models: Librarian & Sister of Battle
Lexicanum Varus, Terminator Librarian
Two more MTO models are on the way that you can reserve for yourself RIGHT NOW. We first saw this Terminator Librarian revealed to be coming in the Adepticon event. However, since that’s been canceled GW is rolling him out as an MTO model.
Sister Tariana Palos
In the same boat, we’ve got a new Sister of Battle MTO model as well. She’ll be acting like an unnamed Sister in-game that is perfectly fit for being the leader of a unit and she’ll also be made on-demand.
Sister Tariana Palos is a brand-new, never-before-seen model based on a classic piece of Anna Steinbauer artwork that graced the cover of a previous edition of Codex: Adepta Sororitas. She is every bit the archetype of a Battle Sister, perfect for use in your army, perhaps as a Superior or a Celestian. She’s also festooned with holy detailing, making her an ideal painting project.
Both of these models are open for ordering for two weeks only, starting yesterday so make sure you put those orders in if you want them.
Don’t forget you can pre-order your copy of the Daemonifuge as well.
Daemonifuge 20th Anniversary Edition
Ephrael Stern – Sister of Battle – Daemonifuge! Tainted soul or living weapon against the dark forces of Chaos? Under investigation by the Inquisition, Ephrael Stern and the Inquisitor Silas Hand must place their trust in each other as they embark on a dangerous quest to discover the origins of her power.
The 20th Anniversary Daemonifuge book has been previewed. However, due to everything happening in the world, its release date got pushed back to June 23.
GW Previews 3: Blackstone Fortress Final Expansion Ascension
Blackstone Fortress is getting their final expansion to the game and it looks like there’s been a WAY bigger threat hiding in the shadows than we once expected. These Guardian Drones stand three times taller than the models that came in the base game. You can also see some kind of barrel powers sticking out the sides of the models.
If you watched the video, you’ll hear someone say “no, you’re dead!”. Now, who’s that in the bottom right of the box? It sure does look like Obsidius! He might be back and behind the activation of the bigger Guardian Drones.
The Fortress is awakening, Precipice is in peril, and the explorers must band together to prevent all they’ve worked for from being destroyed. Ascension gives you a different way to play, as you race through the ever-changing corridors of the Blackstone Fortress in search of a way to shut it down and stop Obsidius Mallex once and for all.
New Warcry Warband: The Khainite Shadowstalkers
The Khainite Shadowstalkers are the spies that Morathi uses to enforce her will across the realms. Even for a race from a land of shadow and renowned for their innate stealth, these guys are sneaky! They’re like mist in the shadows, only the mist has a poison dagger and a repeater crossbow… These dynamic models hark back to a classic Dark Elf aesthetic from the world-that-was, that of Khaine worshippers like Assassins and Shades.
How cool is a dude with two repeating crossbow pistols???
As far as we know, there are only three models in this Warband. That means your activations will have to be very meaningful in-game. But these models are looking fantastic. Another interesting thing to note is that this is the first non-Chaos Warcry Warband to be released.
GW Previews 3: Snotling Team Comes to Blood Bowl
No, you’re not hallucinating. Those are Snotlings. A team of Snotlings. Sure, they have a Pump Wagon, and sure there are loads of them, but, you know, they’re Snotlings. They make Goblins look fierce and Halflings seem thoroughly athletic by comparison.
Halflings are meant for playing Blood Bowl on hard-mode. But Snotlings are going to be for EXTRA hard-mode (at least by what we’ve heard on-stream). You’ll have a few tricks in your team like quick movement and a pump wagon. But at the end of the day, a Snotling is a Snotling and they can only do so much. Each model is loaded with detail, however, and really shows how wacky these dudes are when left by themselves.
Warhammer Storyforge: More Hammer & Bolter Pics Revealed
we have a VERY exciting first look at Hammer and Bolter episode 2. Written by George Mann, whom you may know from his Raven Guard stories for Black Library, this instalment stars the Sisters of Battle.
GW is already dipping their toe into the second episode of Hammer & Bolter with Sisters of Battle on the move.
These images give you a hint of the animation style you can expect from this episode, and a tantalising first glimpse at Sisters Elena and Agatha. Who could they be fighting?
There’s no new video teaser accompanying these characters. However, we can see that the animation style on Elena and Agatha are fairly similar to Avatar: The Last Air Bender’s show.
With GW just showing two Sisters as a part of this preview, it really makes you wonder what happened to the rest of their squad…Moreover, what they’re going up against. While these questions are looking to remain unanswered for a little while, everything on the series is looking solid.
GW Previews 3: All-New Sons of Behemat Models!
The Sons of Behemat aren’t hiding any longer. Warhammer Community revealed these huge chonky bois and the best part is that they’re all a part of one kit. You can also bring these guys as a part of any faction. Since Gargants really only care about food or ale, they can be bought by armies that are in need of a little bit of bashing power.
This is Warhammer’s biggest plastic monster yet… it towers over a regular gargant and easily stares Archaon and his three-headed mount in their many faces. It’s festooned with details that mark it as a creature of the Mortal Realms, including trinkets from across the various factions and bits of monster – presumably to snack on after battle.
Looking at the scale, the new Sons of Behemat look to be standing in between the Aleguzzler Gargant and the Bonegrinder Gargant.
The Kraken-Eater
Taking on a nautical theme, the Kraken-Eater has a bat made out of old cannon bits and a net full of fish (and fishermen).
The Warstomper
This dude has made armor out of a growing collection of tattered flags of fallen enemies. Grabbing shields and banners where he could, he’s a walking monument of unlucky armies. Check out how he’s used some armor plates as a bandaid on his forehead.
The Gatebreaker
The Gatebreaker has an executioner kind of vibe with bits and pieces of some castle rubble for armor. Also, he’s got a VERY unlucky person in his right hand.
For fans of Giants, this is definitely an exciting release on the way. These could be the Knight-equivalent model from 40k in Age of Sigmar. While AoS has historically favored horde armies, it’ll be interesting if these guys have some rules that will help balance the scales.
GW Previews 3: Horus Heresy New Saul Tarvitz Model
Saul Tarvitz was one of the first-ever named Horus Heresy Space Marines (along with Garro and Varren, in 1988’s Space Marine rulebook), and his appearances in Black Library’s Horus Heresy novels only cemented his popularity. His death** at Isstvan III after he led a disparate army of Imperial loyalists in defiance of Horus’ betrayal made him a legend – and now you can bring that legend to your games of The Horus Heresy.
While this guy might be specifically for games of 30k. That doesn’t mean he wouldn’t make an outstanding Chaos Lord for the Emperor’s Children in 40k. That head would also make a great Blood Angels Smash Captain conversion piece!
With the third wave of previews down, we have a huge amount of releases from GW ahead.
