GW threw the Necromunda fans a helping hand while most of us are currently stuck at home with this free PDF download mission!
Coming from Warhammer Community, they dropped a solo-play mission for Necromunda. Take a look at what your gang will be going against in the underhive next.
The Hunt: Free Necromunda Solo-Play Mission Download PDF
You’ve heard rumours of an Ambot running amok downhive. With the promise of riches and fame, your gang is going to hunt it down. Now, this won’t be easy as its safety failsafes have, well, failed and the creature could be hiding almost anywhere.
This scenario features all of the rules that you’ll need to track down the Ambot and take it out. While this solo-play mission is designed as a one-off skirmish, there is nothing to stop an arbitrator using it as a way to keep a paused campaign going. You could even add a special rule which allows anyone who successfully completed the mission to include an Ambot in their gang, to represent them reprogramming the beast.
Setting Up the Game
This is a grimdark version of the Predator. Your gang of up to seven models is going to be set up in the middle of the battlefield and your only way of “winning” is to find and destroy the Ambot.
The game always starts with the player going first and they can search the area and cover other gangers while they search.
You’ve got a table that you’ll roll one whenever you search adding an intelligence modifier. Depending on what you roll, the Ambot is going to eventually pop out and start wrecking face.
The Ambot is Controlled By a Table
The Ambot’s statline and special have been pulled out of their books so you’ve got all the information on-hand if you didn’t already. Just from looking at his rules like Frenzied and Unfeeling Hide, you better hope you roll hot on the D3 extra gangers that get to come along.
Finally, the Ambot is going to be controlled by a certain table as an AI. You consult the chart and figure out what the Ambot is going to be doing based on where your dudes are positioned. He can also drag a dude off into the shadows and go back into hiding at the end of a round too. You surviving guys will have to start looking for him again afterward.
Be sure to read all the details for the mission yourself if you plan on playing it. Just by looking at a quick overview, everything looks pretty tight.
Will you be playing this mission by yourself? What would be another good model to use as a stand-in if you don’t have an Ambot?
