Necromunda’s first video game is out and there are some playthroughs on the game to help you decide if you want to pick it up. Take a look!
You can go to Steam Games right now and download your copy of Necromunda: Underhive Wars made by Focus Home Interactive. This is the first big online game we’ve seen set around gangs in the grimdark universe so let’s explore some details of the game to help you decide if you want to pick it up.
Necromunda: Underhive Wars Game Play & Release Sale
We’ve been keeping tabs on this game for a while but the latest bit of news is that it’s finally out and you can even get it for less as part of a new release promotion. The game normally runs for $39.99 but through September 14th, it’s going to be 20% off (for $31.99).
Currently, the game has Mixed Reviews, but at the time of writing this, the game has only been out for about a day. The overall weigh-in from the community could change as more people play and the game develops, but just keep that in mind.
Official & Unofficial Gameplay Overviews
Starting with a video from the developers, they put together a gameplay overview to give you a feel for the game.
In the video, the developers show off just how far you can take the cosmetic customization of your gang between three houses. Orlocks, Goliath, and Escher. There is also a story and multiplayer mode to play through once the game launches. As you play, the game will keep track of lasting injuries on your gangers as well as reputation and gang wealth.
Just like on the tabletop, you don’t want your dudes to die off, but depending on the mission, you could have a lot of potential reputation and riches on the line. It may be worth it to sacrifice a dude to get that new Stubber you’ve been wanting!
They also showed some gameplay footage of different mechanics of classes within your gang. For example, the leader can inspire others with some encouraging words or basically threaten them to do a certain action. We’ve talked about the whole video earlier here if you’re wanna hear our thoughts.
AirsickHydra on YouTube also posted up a fantastic breakdown of the game if you really want to get into the details of deployment and combat.
Looking at the start of the game, he goes into explaining the different deployment positions, resources, and exits that your fighters can take to retreat from combat and not die.
He also goes into some combat tricks that you can use in your game like making the most out of your movement points and checking ranges on your weapons while you look for a nice piece of cover. Be sure to check out the video for yourself if you’re curious about the game or just want to get better at playing your gang!
