This week we are unboxing the new wave of Space Marine Heroes series that just came out (in the USA)! Rob sees what it takes to get them ready for the tabletop, shows the size of the models, and tells you the GOTCHAS to be aware of when building them!
We are going to show you everything including the sprues, bits, and of course how big they are. That way you can decide if these are worth your hard-earned hobby dollars. Let’s go!
Death Guard Heroes Series 3: Unboxing & Build
Here is the box of minis we are going to take a look at today! They came out in Japan a while ago, but they are finally available (for the normal price…) in the USA. Here we go!
Grabbing Them on the Site
Unfortunately, they are already sold out on the GW’s webstore, but they may come back! You could either grab the entire site or just a random booster pack. And no word on the Sorceror just yet, but it may come out somewhere else. They were originally $12 apiece or $72 for the set. You can still find them on secondary markets like here on Amazon, however.
The Box Comparison
So you get all 6 in the set, but each mini comes in its own box. Stores were pm;y allocated three, so if your FLGS still has one, be sure to pick it up!
They kept the size almost the same for all the boxes of the Space Marine Heroes boxes. Just to note, Rob did grab a couple of these from Japan!
Instructions and Sprues
They aren’t too many pieces and look to be ETB. Let’s hope it goes nice and easy.
The bits all look really detailed and you get a couple of head options. With them being push-fit, it should take no time at all to build. But if you don’t want to do the push-fit, you can just clip off the pegs and glue it with the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement.
Completed Mini
It took longer to clip it off than it did to build it. Overall it looks great and the little Nurgling really adds some fun to the mini. It pretty much is mono-pose, but that’s not terrible. With the push-fit minis, there can be some small gaps, so just be aware of that. Lastly, there are a few tiny mold lines to cut off.
Size Comparison
It lines up perfectly with the original Space Marine Hero.
Of course, it’s a little smaller than the Terminator, which has no Blood Angel symbols. So it’s just a normal red Terminator, we guess…
That does it for this one! After the release, they are starting to dry up a little, so if you can find it for a good deal, be sure to grab it!
