Adeptus Titanicus Warlord TItan wal horThe new Adeptus Titanicus Volkite Weapon rules can pop Void Shields with ease, check out what they bring to the battlefield!

Warhammer Community unveiled some new weapon profiles coming to AT! They will be usable by WarhoundReaver, and Warlord Titans and come in two variations: Eradicators for Warhounds and Reavers and Volkite Destructors for Warlords.

Volkite Weapons are basically heat rays that came about during the Great Crusade. Just another cool way to add variety to your army. Let’s get into the rules!

Adeptus Titanicus Volkite Weapon Rules

Adeptus Titanicus Volkite Weapon Rules 2In simple terms, Volkite weapons are heat rays. They fire beams of energy that set unprotected targets – like squishy humans – on fire. When scaled up to Titan size, they are terrifyingly effective at taking down void shields, as they superheat the protective energy barriers and pop them out of existence.

Nothing wrong with getting some new weapons to destroy your enemies with! Let’s look at how they will work in-game.

Voidbreaker

VoidbreakerBoth the eradicator and the destructor use three dice per attack, with a range of 20” for the former and 24” for the latter. They have the Voidbreaker (2) trait, meaning that for every hit, the target has to roll an additional 2 shield saves. Even a formidably shielded Warmaster Heavy Battle Titan could potentially be stripped of all its protection by a single volley.

Of course, volkite weapons also have their uses against the cold metal skins of Titans and – especially – Knights. At Strength 5 for the eradicator and 6 for the destructor, they’re not going to be making the Princeps of a Warlord sweat, but concentrated fire can definitely threaten Warhounds and give Knight banners a very bad day indeed.

These are the perfect way to open up your shooting and break shields quickly. With your opponent having to roll multiple dice for every attack to their shields. If you get lucky with these, you can strip all shields in a single volley.

Beam

Beam Volkite rulesThe Warlord’s volkite destructor can also be fired as a Beam (1) weapon, at the cost of Draining the Titan’s reactor. This allows it to potentially hit up to three models in a single direct line of fire. Each target has to be destroyed to allow the beam to move on to another, making this the perfect attack against already weakened Knight banners.

If you can line this up with an injured Titan or Knights in front and a target behind, you can do some serious damage. Also, they just take the hits from the weapon’s dice value, no need to hit. Pretty sweet if you need to get through some units. Then, if the first engine is destroyed by the shot, it can continue to hit more units.

Will you be adding these to your forces? Do you like the rules for them?
