Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
Unfortunately, we were not able to locate the tournament details, but they seem relatively standard when examining the results and list.
3rd Place: Kyle Daley – Tau Empire
2nd Place: Travis Armstrong – Grey Knights
1st Place: Ben Neal – Grey Knights
Starting off Ben’s Grey Knights list, they have a Spearhead led by Draigo and a Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight. The Grand Master serves as a great psyker with support for the list and can teleport in. He also comes with some hard-hitting melee and ranged weapons making him a beast in all-around combat and utility.
Draigo also comes with extra psychic support and a decent ranged weapon. But his real combat prowess is in his named melee weapon, making him a serious threat if too close. He also provides re-rolls to nearby Grey Knights which is always a welcome buff.
The rest of the spearhead is 3 Nemesis Dreadknights, which much like the Grandmaster are beasts in ranged and melee combat, however, they don’t get his extra goodies that come with being a more expensive HQ.
The second and final detachment is a patrol led by a Brotherhood Chaplain and a Brotherhood Librarian. The chaplain helps out by topping off damaged units each turn to squeeze out extra value from them. While the Librarian offers up even more psychic support to the list.
The only troop option is a 10 man Strike Squad running Falchions and Storm Bolters, making them decent in both ranged and melee combat.
Fast Attacks bring in a total of 20 Interceptors running halberds and 1 hammer, for a group that will dominate in melee.
Finally, there is a single rhino to round out the points and offer some cheap transport for a few models during the first rounds.
What do you think about all three of these most recent lists? Do you like seeing the Grey Knights do well?
