MCP New Release Roadmap

GAMA 2025 New Release Previews

MCP expansion packs release date

June is shaping up to be a big month for Marvel Crisis Protocol fans, bringing in a mix of heavy hitters, cunning schemers, and characters that will shake up your roster in all the right ways. These new character pack release dates were revealed at GAMA

If you’ve been looking for new ways to spice up your squad, Avalanche, Exodus, and Lady Mastermind have you covered. These three bring a mix of raw power and sneaky tricks, making them perfect for players who love keeping opponents on their toes. And let’s be real—who doesn’t want more bad guys in their lineup?

MCP expansion packs release date 2Now, let’s talk about a trio that’s sure to turn some heads: Echo, Tigra, and Ronin. This pack is all about versatility. Echo’s ability to copy enemy abilities (if that’s what she ends up doing) could make her a wild card, while Tigra and Ronin (yes it’s “Hawkeye”) bring some much-needed anti-hero energy to the table. Whether you like swift, agile fighters or unpredictable playstyles, this set is worth a look.

We already know she’ll have an “unleashed” form, and if previous multi-form characters are any indication, she’s going to be an absolute force. Not only will she dominate the battlefield, but she’s also going to be a dream to paint—fiery effects, vibrant colors, and enough dramatic poses to make any painter excited!

X-Men Starter: The Gateway to Mutant Mayhem

MCP expansion packs release date 5

If you’ve been waiting for a way to jump into Marvel Crisis Protocol without the usual starter set, the new X-Men starter might be exactly what you need. Think of it as an affiliation pack dialed up to eleven, with everything you need to get a squad of mutants on the table. The catch? We’ve got to wait until October to get our hands on it. But from what we can tell, it’s going to be worth it.

For retailers, this is a game-changer—a streamlined way to introduce new players without needing to push the full two-player core box. For veteran players? It’s the perfect excuse to rope in a friend who’s been on the fence about diving in. Plus, if your group doesn’t need to split yet another core set, this could be the ideal entry point for fresh recruits.

Now, the real kicker: this set isn’t just a character pack—it comes with all the essentials. Dice? Check. Measuring tools? Yep. Everything a newcomer needs to start slinging mutant powers without hunting down extra accessories. The only question left is the price tag. If it lands in a reasonable spot, it could be the best way yet to get people into MCP without the upfront commitment of the full starter box. October can’t get here fast enough!

The New Spider Foes Starter Pack: A Fresh Coat of Paint or Just a Rerun?

Spider Foes Starter PackAtomic Mass Games is back with another repackaged starter set, and this time, it’s the Spider Foes taking center stage. If you missed out on the previous affiliation pack featuring Electro, Sandman, Vulture, and Shocker, here’s another shot—this time bundled with all the dice, tokens, and measurement tools you need to get rolling. It’s an easy entry point for newcomers, but for those who’ve been in the game for a while, this might feel like déjà vu.

So, what’s the appeal? Well, new players won’t have to hunt down extras like measuring tools or core set accessories, making it a straight shot to the tabletop. That’s a welcome change from the old days when getting started meant picking up a core set packed with characters you might not even care about. This approach trims the fat and lets players jump in with a focused faction.

That said, there’s a small hitch—this box alone doesn’t quite give you a full roster for a standard game. You’ll need a few more minis to round things out, so while it’s a great launch pad, it’s not a one-and-done solution. Veterans might see this as a repackaging effort rather than fresh content, but for those looking to expand their Spider Foes roster or get a friend into the game, it’s a solid option.

Revealed at GAMA and set to hit shelves in October 2025, this release raises an interesting question: Will these new starter sets help new players break into the game more easily, or will they feel like recycled content? Either way, Spider Foes fans have something new—well, kind of new—to look forward to.
