3rd Place: Jonathan Arkin – Blood Angels
2nd Place: Olof Svensson – Black Templar
1st Place: Andreas Holm – Drukhari
Andreas’ winning Drukhari was the new Skysplinter Assault detachment, which offers some unique perks like ignoring cover after disembarking and giving melee weapons the Lance keyword. Two Archons led the list for wound re-rolls and to lead two units of Kabalite Warriors.
Wracks add in a few cheap close-range models, while Wyches offers a grenade launcher and decent fall-back support. Infantry brings in three Incubi and two Mandrake squads for more melee models. Two units of Scourges bring in some pretty solid ranged units with Heavy Weapons.
Monsters have a Cronos and two Talos engines for larger, durable models, while some iconic Raiders and four Venoms close out the list with fast, cheap vehicles.
Coupled with the new detachment rules and the Venoms allowing the infantry to embark if they are within 6″ of the vehicle, this seemed to make the difference this week as it greatly increased units’ survivability and damage output.
