Forge World Teases New Orks, Tau & Tyranids 8th Rules!

Ork GeniusGames Workshop teases some new datasheets for the upcoming 8th Edition Forge World Imperial Armor Xeno Index that goes up for pre-order at the end of June.

In an article just posted on Warhammer Community, Games Workshop gives us a few pics of the new datasheets found in the Imperial Armor Index: Xenos. Let’s see what the article had to say.

We’ll start off with a Tyranid, one of the most popular Forge World additions to the hive fleet forces in the last edition due to both its durability, synapse and protective gas-cloud aura – the Malanthrope. We can see from the range of useful abilities this guy has, he’ll likely still be seen in many forces.

Malanthrope

Malanthrope (and Venomthropes for that matter) is still a very good model to have on your side. Plus, at the end of every round you get to roll a D6 for every enemy unit within 1″, and on a 4+ it suffers a mortal wound.

Next up, the Ork Mega Dread. With the increase in vehicle durability, and the deadliness of combat, Ork Dread-based armies become a very viable option, and this bruiser is the guy you want at the front of the charge:

MekaDread

The Ork Mega Dread is coming out with some really hard hitting weapons and each time it suffers a wound roll a D6 and the wound is ignored on a 4+. If you fail the roll the next will require a 5+, then if failed again it goes to a 6+. Lastly, if you fail on a 6+ you no longer get to use that ability. Boo!

Our final preview is of the XV109 Y’vahra Battlesuit. This highly mobile cousin of the Riptide dishes out just as much devastating firepower as he did last edition, so you’ll still see plenty of these advanced Battlesuits on the battlefield.

XV109

The XV109 Y’vahra Battlesuit is looking like a one man wrecking crew, and it’s got the defensive role covered as well. It has a 5+ invulnerable save, increasing to a 4+ against any attacks originating within 12″ or melee.

All these of these units, as well as the full Tyranid, T’au Empire, Ork, Aeldari and Necron ranges of Forge World models are covered in the upcoming  Imperial Armour Index: Xenos, available soon and designed to be used with the new edition of Warhammer 40,000.

So, that was just a quick tease of one datasheet from each of the factions that are coming in the Imperial Armor Index: Xenos. What are your thoughts on these teasers?
