Blightlord Termies Post

Games Workshop has released the next wave of Death Guard units. Blightlord Terminators are here and have a healthy amount of options for their $60 price!

Last week, we saw the the Deathshroud Bodyguard kit that, for $60, some folks said was not a great buy for only 3 models that were static and had highly limited customization options. The Blightlord Terminators kit, on the other hand, has more options and will you may get your hobby dollars worth with this kit. Here is a sample of our quick and dirty review to give you the lowdown on what you can expect to see with this kit.

The Blightlord Terminators unit is very robust and pointed well. They look way cooler than anything you can convert using the using the existing Terminator kits out there. They come packed with weapon options, including three special weapons, combi-weapons with all the bits, balesword, and blight launcher. Where this unit is going to fit into some of the more competitive builds, is hard to say.

Blightlord termies manualThe kit may be slightly more complicated to put together than other kits we have seen. All components are contained on two sprues and the kit is definitely a multi-part kit. In all cases, you must put the head bit into the socket located on the main torso piece first before looking in the front chest piece. There are eight head options to choose from and it appears that some other head bits from other kits will be able to fit in as well for even more customization options.

The level of detail with this kit is great. We have been saying that lately and it is true. Games Workshop has been surpassing itself lately with the level of detail that has been put into these kits. From pitting and weathering of the armor to the Nurgle icons and crazy, intestinal bits detail, this kit has the detail that you are wanting from a kit. There is even interior detail on the Cataphractii armor above the helms that gives them a even more deathly evil look.

This quick summary was provided by our very own Rob Baer. He also talks about their point cost and weapon options in the full review video below. So be sure to scroll down and hit play.

Blightlord Terminators: $60

Blightlord Terminators are relentless and unstoppable, elite Death Guard warriors forever bound to Cataphractii armour. They stalk forward with guns blazing, mercilessly mowing down rank after rank of enemy. Combi-weapons, plague spewers and blight launchers add to the fusilade, reducing infantry and vehicles to slop.

This multi-part plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble a unit of 5 Blightlord Terminators. Resplendent in their cracked, rotting Cataphractii shells, they are bursting with squirming tentacles, covered all over with pustulent signs of Nurgle’s gifts: spikes, boils, grinning toothed maws and vile respirators all feature heavily. Each comes armed with a combi-bolter, and a choice of either a balesword or bubotic axe – there are some other, equally unpleasant weapons included, meaning one model can replace their combi-bolter with either a plague spewer, reaper autocannon or blight launcher, and another can carry a fearsome double-handed flail of corruption.

The Champion of the unit can take combi-weapon upgrades; there’s a plasma, flamer and melta variant available. There are 8 variant heads available, a mix of helmeted and bare. None of them are especially pleasant to gaze upon…

The Blightlord Terminators come as 64 components, and are supplied with 5 Citadel 40mm Round bases.

The Blightlord Terminators are available now online and in local Games Workshop stores. Be sure to press play on our quick and dirty unboxing and review video below for the full review.
