Early previews are here from Games Workshop for the new 40k Harlequins rules that are on the way in White Dwarf 454 in June!
Harlequins are up next for Psychic Awakening support and it’s been announced that they’ll have new rules in a White Dwarf. However, by the looks of it, their support is going to be on-par with the Deathwatch, which we know was dropped out-of-date and in need of an FAQ.
How Does June’s WD Harlequin Support Compare To Deathwatch?
Warhammer Community announced that Harlequin Psychic Awakening support is coming in the next White Dwarf as part of a recent preview. You can look for this White Dwarf to go on sale in the last week of June as well.
White Dwarf 454…is 160 pages and will go on sale in the last week of June.
If you look at a close-up of one of the previewed pages, you can see that Harlequins are only getting six pages of support from p.44 to p.49.
In the same way, the Deathwatch only had five pages (70-74) of support.
What Will The Harlequin Support Look Like?
It’s a safe bet to guess that we’ll be seeing a few Warlord Traits, some relics, a page or two of Stratagems, and maybe a short story on what they’ve been up to since this Psychic Awakening thing all happened.
However, one stark difference from the Deathwatch and Harlequins is that the Harlequins didn’t have a big generic Aeldari primer codex as the Space Marines did months ago, bringing Stratagems from that book and into the Deathwatch support.
With that taken into account, we could be seeing more unique Stratagems arise out of the Harlequin’s White Dwarf as well as rules that don’t need an immediate FAQ.

Now, GW could also have phoned this one in too and just given some old Craftworld/Ynnari tricks to the Harlequins, which also could be a possibility.
Ultimately, while it’s not a full book’s worth of support, Harlequins look to still be in a better position than the Deathwatch in terms of new rules as they’re getting an extra page over the Deathwatch and haven’t had any generic wave of support that hit the Aeldari race on the level of the Marine codex from above.
