new-9th-Edition-starter-sets-announcedHot on the heels of Indomitus, GW just announced three new starter sets that are on the way for 9th Edition Warhammer 40k, and more!

Coming from Warhammer Community, there are a few big announcements to cover. From three new starter sets to a multipart Bladeguard kit and a word on Indomitus, here’s everything you need to know.

BREAKING: GW Announces New 9th Edition 40k Starter Sets!

Indomitus JudiciarLooks like our Industry Insiders were right on the money with our previous Starter Sets rumor last week.

Before we get into the details, it’s important to note that these sets are designed for new players wanting to dip their toe into 40k. If you’re a well-established 40k player you probably won’t see anything here that really gets you going. On the flip side, if you only got your hands on a single Indomitus box and want to branch out with more new Necron/ Primaris sculpts, this might be a more affordable alternative.

Recruit Edition

The set includes a handful of miniatures, dice, range rulers, a mat, and a Recruit Manual featuring each unit’s datasheet and guidance to help you learn the basics of the game. It’s an excellent option for younger hobbyists.

Elite Edition

The next step up is the Elite Edition, which features a larger selection of units, including the awesome new Necron Overlord and Primaris Captain miniatures! The Elite Edition is a fantastic option if you’re looking to begin or broaden your collection of Necrons and Space Marines while using the Elite Manual included in the set to learn the game at your own pace.

Command Edition

The Command Edition is simply the best way to get started with Warhammer 40,000! Not only does it include all of the amazing models in the Elite Edition, it also boasts a fantastic fold-out, double-sided gaming board to fight your battles on, and a cracking selection of brand-new battlefield terrain. In short, it’s got everything you need to kickstart your Warhammer 40,000 journey with gusto and verve!

The set’s Command Manual features a narrative-driven set of six missions aimed at teaching you key aspects of the game. Once you’ve mastered these principles, a 184-page rulebook will provide you with everything you need to take your next steps towards becoming a hardened veteran of Warhammer 40,000 battlefields!

Multipart Bladeguard Vet kit Confirmed

bladeguard veteran multipart 1These Bladeguard Vets were spotted earlier sparking controversy on if a new multipart kit coming just around the corner. Well, it looks like it was all correct. GW came out saying that these guys would be available with different poses very soon.

You may have noticed that none of the new starter sets include the mighty Bladeguard Veterans from the Indomitus boxed set. Well, there’s a reason for that – have you seen these guys?

These glorious warriors will soon be available in a separate, multipart kit all their own. If you’re chomping at the bit to add a unit or two into your army, you won’t have long to wait!

MTO Indomitus Orders Closing Soon

indomitusFinally, if you’re still holding out to put your Indomitus orders in, you’ve got until July 28th (tomorrow) to put your orders in. If you were planning on getting your hands on a box through the MTO way, make sure you get your ducks in a row before orders close.

As of this writing, the price has settled back down on the Indomitus starter set as well, and Amazon currently has a supply marked  with a delivery date of July 30th 2020.

Indomitus box

Indomitus is a phenomenal set. The culmination of some of the best work our miniatures, rules, lore and art teams have ever made, this box takes everything that makes Warhammer 40,000 incredible and puts it in one place. Two huge collections of amazing, brand-new models are packaged with the full Core Book – everything a 40K hobbyist needs to hit the ground running in the new edition.

We’ve got a pretty good guess on how much value the 9th Edition 40k Idomintus Box Set has inside.

That was a lot to talk through but big moves are being made in 9th Edition! From three new starters to a multipart kit, there is still plenty of excitement to look forward to.

What do you think about the three tiers of the same starter set that GW is releasing? Will you be getting one to supplement the models from your Indomitus set? How much do you think these will cost?
