The main thing we hadn’t seen yet was the actual full datasheet for Be’lakor and all his new psychic powers too. Thanks to a bunch of videos over on YouTube, we can now see all the new rules. If you’ve been wondering if he’s worth taking, wonder no longer. If you want to see the full rules from the book, you can find them on Imgur here.  there’s a lot of rules to go over, so let’s jump into them!

All the New Be’lakor 40k Rules From Charadon Act 2 Book of Fire

New Be'lakor sizeIf you haven’t been keeping up, you can check out a more in-depth breakdown of all the rules and releases previewed so far by clicking any of the links below:

Be’lakor 40k Datasheet

be'lakor data sheetHe comes in at 360 points, and for what he can do, it’s not bad. He has a ton of debuff auras for enemy units, has a 4+ invuln, gives enemy shooting a -1 to wound at range, you cannot reroll hit rolls against him, and they must subtract 1 from the hit roll as well.

Basically, he’s going to be super hard to kill, while being good in combat and giving all Disciples of Be’lakor and Daemons reroll ones to hit. It doesn’t say anything about core either, that’s just all units except vehicles.

blade of shadowsFirst, he’s got a standard sweeping attack which we will cover below, along with an ability to double attacks (now 12 total), which should help him dig out of horde combats.

The Piercing Strike however is great, and the stat line did seem to get changed last from +2S in his model Datasheet to +4S in the GW preview. All that aside, the main power of these attacks is that they prevent invulnerable saves! That means he might just be one of the best character killers in the game moving forward!

Be'lakor 40k rulesHe is also getting a 4+ Invulnerable and -1 to wound rolls for incoming ranged shots.  Shadow Form is also pretty good, if he is attacked, the hit roll cannot be re-rolled, additionally, they must subtract 1 from it. These are both great to help make him tougher and last longer on the field, together they kinda push him over the top, he will be a massive pain to deal with.

Noctic Discipline

Noctic DisciplineWe already knew what three of the powers would do, but now you can check the rest out!

Be'lakor Psychic powersWith the ability to manifest two psychic powers each turn and access to the Noctic discipline that’s unique to Disciples of Be’lakor, you can turn the Dark Master into a mass mortal wound generator with Smite, Voidslivers, and Betraying Shades.

Be'lakor Psychic powers 2This power can be insane. While you have to roll 6’s if you can use this on a unit with 3 attacks each, if you get lucky, you can really deal the mortal wounds.

Be'lakor rules 4His powers are all pretty sweet, and this one can make a unit, like havocs, near impossible to take out by the enemy.

Disciples of Be’lakor

Disciples of Be'lakorThere are some restrictions, but nothing too insane, like no more Daemon Princes, no dedicated special Chaos units, and you have to take one of every god before moving onto a second one. You in return gain the Noctic Discipline, special stratagems, an Aura, and the Disciples of Shadow rules.

Locus of ShadowFurthermore, instead of gaining their normal Daemonic Locus ability, your Daemonic Characters gain the Locus of Shadows ability…

While you replace the normal Locus ability, this will make your Daemons much harder to hit and hopefully keep them alive to get off the all-important charges!

Disciples of Shadow…while your Heretic Astartes units gain the Disciples of Shadow ability in place of their normal Legion Trait.

Basically, your entire army is going to be wrapped in shadows and very hard to hit with shooting. Just remember though, this replaces their normal Legion Trait.

Stratagems

be'lakor data PNGYou get 6 new Stratagems in the book, some of which are pretty sweet.

Legions of ShadeThis is pretty nice for a single CP when you need to get past the annoying screening units and to the vital target behind! The other two that are really cool are the Shadow Pact and Daemonic Boon. If you can get a ton of attacks, for 1 CP any hit rolls of 6’s will be auto wounds, and they will be adding one to their Strength. Shadow Pact for 1 CP is super versatile and can give you whatever extra boost you need, whether that be movement, attacks, saves, or toughness.

What do you think about the new Be’lakor 40k rules? Will you be running this Army of Renown?
