New Marvel Crisis Protocol Hulkbuster has Insane Mechanics!

Hulkbuster armor featureDuring the Ministravaganza from Atomic Mass Games, they revealed the Marvel Crisis Protocol Hulkbuster cards and the mechanics are awesome!

First up, who doesn’t just love the look of this armor? If you don’t well, never mind. Anyway, Atomic Mass Games revealed the cards of the new armor on their Twitch and you can revive the Hulkbuster.

Since Hulk doesn’t have an injured side, they realized it wouldn’t make sense for the Hulkbuster to have one. So instead, the Hulkbuster just has a baby Iron Man suit pop out that can actually revive the Hulkbuster suit! It’s hard to do but it would be amazing to pull off! They also revealed the other cards in the expansion set, so we’ll take a look at all of them.

This is also on pre-order now, so you can click the link on the heading below to grab your very own Hulkbuster! Let’s get into the cards.

Marvel Crisis Protocol Hulkbuster:

Hulkbuster cardSo first up, you can actually use his leadership if you want, which is really good when you’re trying to take down something as big as the Hulk. Then, his Meteor Punch doesn’t give any power to the enemy when hit by it, meaning it’s perfect at fighting against the Hulk!

Then, when you just look at the stats, it rivals the biggest characters in the game, as it should be. It can throw stuff, smash stuff, hit and run, which is all cool, but possibly the coolest part is when Iron Man pops out!

Hulkbuster card 2Once you get damaged enough, this suit pops out. Since it’s a secondary support suit and not a full one, it is obviously much weaker. The best part about this card is Always Have a Backup. They said in the stream they’ve only seen it happen twice in playtesting, but reviving the Hulkbuster suit would just be one of the coolest things you could do in the game!

Just imagine the look on your opponent’s face when the big guy stands back up!

Two More Card Revealed

Helios LaserThe Helios Laser Bombardment is a really, really cool card! In the lore, it can destroy an entire city, so the card version is not that strong, but if you get enough characters using this at once, it still can be really powerful. They mentioned in one playtest game they got up to 20 dice or something crazy like that.

So if you really need to take out something as strong as Dormammu, go ahead and put all your eggs in one basket!

fall back cardThis isn’t nearly as crazy as the card above, but it does give you some really cool options. And gives you something enticing to spend power on before you get up to ten and revive Hulkbuster.

Plus when you advance you can potentially move over obstacles and get free cover as well.
