Speedpaints are already really awesome, but now with metallics, you’ll basically be able to paint entire minis with nothing else! To start, it looks like we’ll get three paints, but if they do well, we expect to see more in the future.

We recently got to try the new Speedpaint 2.0, and you can read all of our thoughts on it here or click play on the video below:

New Army Painter Speedpaint Metallics Announced!

Speedpaint MetallicsAs we said, there will be three new paints this time around and basically cover the major metallic colors out there. These are a two-tone solution made almost the exact same way as Speedpaints, which mean they will let you get paint on minis quickly, and with a ton of contrast.

Speedpaint Metallics 2They also say (and show) if you wait about 24 hours, you’ll be able to highlight this, or go sooner and mix it with other colors.

Speedpaint Metallics 3Each color looks great on minis, and this is all just with a single coat. Here’s what they have to say about the new paints:

After Bo’s mic drop moment in our most recent Speedpaint Update Video, clever viewers learned about the world’s first metallic one-coat painting solution!
Speedpaint Metallics make painting true metallics faster and easier than ever before. Watch as Bo, Adam & Thomas break down exactly why these paints will get you even more time for gaming! Speedpaint Metallics will be part of the new, expanded Speedpaint range of 90 paints.

It took him about 30 seconds to slap all this paint on there, and it looks good. You could easily throw metallics down on the table just like this. However, they say in the video they would probably do a little bit of highlighting once dry, but you don’t have to.

Last but not least, depending on the primer you use this over, it will change the look. They recommend using it over brighter primers for a better overall look. Check out the video below for all the details!
