World Eaters New 40k Codex Rules, Abilities, & Detachments

World Eaters Codex Rules

Starting off with the foundation, we don’t have much! Just the Daemon Engine keyword giving those models 5+ invuln and regain one wound per turn, nothing too special, along with Warp Strike being the deep strike keyword.

World Eaters are getting two restrictions in list building. Those are only one Daemon Prince per detachment, and you can’t have more Cultists than Butcher Core units in detachments.

World Eaters Codex Rules 2

For the new Blood Tithe system, you’ll gain one Blood Tithe Point (BTP) per unit destroyed, an additional one BTP at the end of each phase if a character monster or vehicle were destroyed, and lastly, one BTP at the end of any phase that a titanic unit was destroyed.

After gaining any BTP you can then spend your available points on a blessing. From the chart above, the most interesting to us is Reborn in Blood, allowing you to revive Angron after he dies, which is insane, and probably Savage Guidance which gives all your models +1 to hit (in melee) for the rest of the game.

World Eaters Codex Rules 3

As for the first sub-faction, the best benefits seem to be Relentless Rage as the legion trait, more or less behaving the same as the old legion trait, and True Berzerker, which halves the damage your Warlord receives in melee combat!

World Eaters Codex Rules 5

Disciples of the Red Angel are the other sub-faction and also have some power in it. They have the same legion trait but require Angron in the list and give Eightbound models Objective Secured Interestingly enough; it also gives access to some Daemonic Infusions!

Disciples of the Red Angel

Not only do your Eightbound and Exalted Eightbound gain Objective Secured, the new Arks of Omen Detachment means you don’t need Troops – so you can fill your army up with daemonic foot soldiers. One unit of possessed World Eaters from your army also gets to pick a special Daemonic Infusion. These offer a variety of extra boosts, such as helping to secure objectives or shrug off sorcerous harm.

It goes without saying that having Angron himself as WARLORD gives your army a lot of close-combat punch, but the Disciples can shoot too. DAEMON ENGINES like Heldrakes, Defilers, and Forgefiends all find a place alongside your axe-swinging demi-daemons, and the devastating Lord of Skulls can put out an ungodly hail of cannon rounds.

Giving your Eightbound Objective Secured is nice, but they can get even better! Counting as two models is pretty strong, and a 4+ against mortals is nothing to dismiss. However, you can use your Blood Tithe points to get a 5+. However, with this, you can just save those BT points for something more important!

New 40k World Eaters Stratagems

World Eaters Codex Rules 4

For the main World Eater Stratagems, Skulls for the Skull Throne is probably going to be a staple getting fast BTP, along with Red Butchers giving all models in a unit +1 damage in a fight phase!

World Eaters Codex Rules 6

Terrifying Assault is quite good if you’re charging into a big shooting unit, as this stops them from firing overwatch, and then, they get even worse in combat. So, pretty useful no matter what you’re charging.

Then, Bloodscent can keep you in combat with units that try to fall back. Consolidating 6″ is no joke, and this can really take your enemy off guard and keep your units from being shot and tying up way more units.

40k Rules FAQ Drops for World Eaters: (March 15th 2023)

You can download the FAQ here.

World Eaters FAQ

Well, this is it. Just one simple FAQ, which is pretty wild to see, as even the smallest FAQs are generally at least four or five changes.

This one is also pretty simple, and you can’t change named characters’ Warlord Traits. Seeing how this is how it’s always been, nothing too surprising.

As we said though, this might show how GW is aiming to get the codexes moving forward, smaller books, and more minor FAQs. We’ll just have to wait and see on that, but if you play the faction, this is nice as your book wasn’t invalidated in just a few weeks after spending the money on it!

Plus, with no NERFs, you can keep getting those skulls for the Blood God!
