strike-me-down-unboxing-legion-star-wars-value-worth-pricing-celebration-genconDon’t miss our unboxing of the Star Wars: Legion Exclusive Strike Me Down Diorama Battle Pack from Star Wars Celebration!

Rob is back unboxing the newest release for Star Wars: Legion, but this is slightly different as it’s the 2023 convention exclusive box! He will talk about the price, where you can score yours, and the miniatures inside!

We will show you everything, including the sprues, bits, and of course, the size. That way, you can decide if this is worth your hard-earned hobby dollars.

Star Wars: Legion Exclusive Strike Me Down Unboxing

Star Wars Legion Exclusive SetIf you missed this convention Exclusive, you can still get on on eBay by clicking here. However, if you’re in North America, you may be able to get yours at  Gen Con (August 3rd-6th) for much cheaper.

Rob probably spent about $500 on this, with shipping and taxes, etc altogether. While it seems a little crazy, some of the older Legion exclusives can’t even be found on eBay anymore. Plus, this helps pay for someone’s trip to the convention. He would much rather spend the money on a true exclusive than $300 on the Lion from Games Workshop, which will eventually be released as a normal stock item.

Not only that, these Star Wars exclusives generally keep their value, so he might just throw it on the shelf behind him and let it chill for a little while.

eBay Prices

Strike Me Down Star Wars LEgionThe prices range anywhere from about $300-$500. There will probably be more of these than the Chicago-exclusive Vader figure, as it’s being released in two places. This cost the attendees £90, and the prices are starting to go down a little, so if you wait a little, you can probably get these for cheaper.

Rob can’t bring himself to build this quite yet… but we will check out all the bits and how it looks!

How it Looks

Strike Me Down Star Wars LEgion 2There are some cool details; you can just slot the miniatures into the diorama. You could take the Emperor off the diorama, but he doesn’t come with another base.

The Bits

Strike Me Down Star Wars LEgion 3The box is about two normal GW kit sizes deep, and all the stuff inside is resin (which makes sense as you don’t want to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in plastic injection molding for just this).

Strike Me Down Star Wars LEgion 4The packaging is pretty nice on the box, and they even give you some instructions and a warning about working with resin.

Strike Me Down Star Wars LEgion 5You get alternative versions of the cards for Commander Darth Vader in the starter set and Operative Luke Skywalker. Just to note, the rules on the cards are the same, just different art, so we won’t go too in-depth into what they actually do.

Strike Me Down Star Wars LEgion 6 Each character comes in one of these plastic baggies, with multiple lightsabers in a separate pack.

Strike Me Down Star Wars LEgion 7The resin itself is crisper than plastic, and even though you don’t have many possibilities for posing, the models are more detailed than their plastic counterparts.

Strike Me Down Star Wars LEgion 8

Strike Me Down Star Wars LEgion 9There are a couple of scenery pieces and slots for the bases, which is nice as you can play a game and throw them right back on there! You could probably even mount this on a 130mm round base or 170mm oval base and be good to go!

Final Thoughts

Strike Me Down Star Wars LEgion 10Overall, the craftsmanship is there; for an exclusive, it’s just really cool!

Plus, with GenCon coming up, you can probably grab one from there for about $100. As Rob said, he’s more willing to spend on something that’s truly exclusive and not something that was just heavily allocated.
