Combat Patrol Orks

Known as Morgrim’s Butchas, this mob of angry Beast Snagga Orks are clearly disappointed by the dearth of big monsters and vehicles in Combat Patrol and are taking out their frustration on everyone else. You get a hulking Beastboss flanked by 20 Beast Snagga Boyz and backed up by four Squighog Boyz, making this a hard-hitting Combat Patrol with lots of big charge energy.

          Models Unit Name Value
          1 Beastboss  $40
          20 Beast Snagga Boyz $120 ($60 for 10)
          4 Squighog Boyz $65
          Orks Combat Patrol
            Total MSRP:  $225
            Savings Versus Box Price: $65

Is the Orks Combat Patrol Worth It?

Beast Snagga BoysDo you want a lot of Beast Snagga Boyz? If so, this is a great box for you. If you want the regular Orks, you have to pass on this one. If you really want to play this style of army, it’s pretty good value, as it gets you the Squighog Boyz for free!

            Orks Combat Patrol

The newer boxes in 10th Edition haven’t had as much value, but getting so many Boyz is always fun. Plus, this is totally different from the Orks’ last combat patrol box, so you still have options if you want to get more ‘regular Orks.’  That being said, the value between these two is $40 less, which in game terms is at least a whole character or half a squad.

            What to Buy Next?

Hunta RigConsidering this gives you all kinds of Beast Snagga stuff, we would keep going that way. Plus, in the new codex, it looks like there is a detachment just for them. So, we would get a bunch of transports for your boys, some Hunta Rigs, Beastboss on Squigosaur, and then more Squighog Boyz.

            Stompa Boyz battleforce

Obviously, you can go more normally with the rest of the army, but since you already have such a base of Beast Snaggas, we would keep going that way. You could even pair it with the new Stompa Boyz Battleforce, as there would be no duplicate units to really jump-start your collection all at once.

Whether you are a new or veteran Orks player, this Combat Patrol is a great way to quickly and easily assemble a small army and jump straight into playing games. If you are interested in the Beast Snagga Orks, this box is definitely worth considering.
