1st Place: Josh Roberts – Space Marines (Ultramarines) Army Lists
The Ultramarines walked into the Leeds Super Major with clean armor, polished bolters, and zero interest in losing. This wasn’t a story of surprise tech or tricky plays. It was classic Guilliman-approved excellence; structured, lethal, and very, very blue.
Leading the charge was a hero lineup that read like a Codex cover shoot: an unnamed Lieutenant with a combi weapon, Marneus Calgar, Roboute Guilliman himself, and Uriel Ventris. That’s not a command structure, that’s a reunion tour.
Guilliman handed out rerolls and slapped fools in melee, Calgar tanked everything short of a Warlord Titan, and Ventris provided enough flexibility to keep the plan rolling.
Backing them were two Ballistus Dreadnoughts, walking bunkers with launchers that delete targets without breaking stride.
A unit of Company Heroes backed the characters up with elite firepower and utility, while Eradicators made life short for any enemy character who peeked out from behind cover.
Scouts took early ground like sneaky little blue velociraptors, claiming objectives and being just annoying enough to matter.
Sternguard Veterans rounded out the infantry with precision fire and veteran flair.
Then came the speed. Three Storm Speeders and a Stormraven screamed across the table, dumping firepower into the right places and keeping the list mobile.
2nd Place: Ratnu Vaidya – Chaos Knights Army Lists
3rd Place: Mark Crombleholme – Necrons Army Lists
Final Thoughts From Us:
At the 2025 Leeds Super Major, the Ultramarines flexed their tactical muscles, cementing their blue dominance. While the Chaos Knights thundered in with relentless might, the Necrons just kept coming back for more.
Each faction proved that distinct strengths can lead to victory in the competitive meta of Warhammer 40k.
If you’re planning to play in the next big tournament or just looking to spice up your games at home, take a page from these winners and remember: every unit counts, and sometimes, all you need is a good plan and a whole lot of models.
