Editor’s Note: These are individual player placings in a 5-player team event, so take these with a grain of salt.
1st Place: Wesley St. Hines – Astra Militarum (Imperial Guard) Army Lists
The Astra Militarum didn’t just win the ATC 5-Player Team Event, they buried it under a mountain of boots, bayonets, and lasguns. This list was less an army and more an entire PDF force given orders to hold everything and shoot everyone.
Leading the charge? Gaunt’s Ghosts, sneaky, deadly, and somehow a bargain. They roamed ahead, picking fights they could win and making a mess of anyone not paying attention.
Ursula Creed followed, backed by three Cadian Castellans, proving the Cadian tradition of surviving everything except their planet remains strong.
Three Cadian Command Squads and two Commissars added even more command presence. Orders flowed, morale stayed intact, and firing lines stayed neat, at least until they started blasting.
The infantry? A literal human wave. 180 bodies on the field, with 80 Cadian Shock Troops holding the line, 30 Catachan Jungle Fighters bringing machetes and attitude, and 70 Death Korps of Krieg grimly advancing through anything that got in their way.
Mobility came from cavalry that looked like they’d escaped from an Imperial propaganda poster. 15 Attilan Rough Riders and 5 Death Riders closed out the list, galloping into weak points, skewering targets, and adding a healthy dose of old-school cool.
2nd Place: Sean Rice – Imperial Knights Army Lists
3rd Place: Mark Hertel – Space Marines (Ultramarines) Army Lists
Final Thoughts on Army Lists
In the epic showdown of the ATC Team Event, the Astra Militarum marched in with enough firepower to hold a planet, while the Imperial Knights showed that big robots are always in style.
Meanwhile, the Ultramarines reminded everyone that tactical finesse is just as crucial as sheer might
Studying these winning army lists and understanding how their tactics work together can provide valuable insights for improving your own strategy. It’s a smart way to up your own 40k game!
