Another off-meta 40k army list emerged in the Bold City Slap-Fight RTT Tournament, check this one out!
9th Edition’s meta is still settling, but some players are taking lists with units that nobody was expecting. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. They didn’t do too bad and just goes to show that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.
Top Homebrew 40k Army List: Bold City Slap-Fight RTT

Bold City Slap-Fight RTT: Lee Harris- Imperial Knights

The first set of models is 2 Armiger Helverins, each of which is running Autocannons and Stubbers for a large volume of fire, and thanks to the Tradition, they’ll be able to move up the board very quickly without taking a hit to their ranged attacks.

The third is a squad of 2 Knight Moiraxs, each with double Pulsar. Pulsar has pretty good stats for a weapon that doesn’t cost extra and even gets better damage when targeting anything with a 3+ save or better, meaning when shots get through they are more punishing.
Lastly, there are two Knight Magaera both running Hekaton Claw and Twin Rad-Cleanser. These are close range beasts, with the giant claw to use in melee enemies want to stay away, but if they are within 12″ the Rad-Cleanser can get 2d6 auto hits and if targeting a non-vehicle, non-monster, will always wound on a 2+ as well, making it fantastic against high toughness low save models.
Overall this list offers a little bit of a different approach but we like it because of their all-in on an aspect of their faction in a response to the meta.
Even better they got great results from the player who piloted it! It’s also very encouraging when a player is able to play a widely considered “underpowered” army or list style so effectively.
