New Forge World Xenos & Imperials FAQ Arrive

Games Workshop has dropped new FAQs today for Forge World’s Xenos and Astra Militarum Indexes for Warhammer 40K 8th Edition.

Games Workshop has players covered this week with two new FAQs for Forge World Imperial Armour first Index books:

Today, we’re releasing FAQs for Imperial Armour – Index: Forces of the Astra Militarum and Imperial Armour – Index: Xenos, as well as updating our FAQs for Imperial Armour- Index: Forces of Chaos and Imperial Armour – Index: Forces of the Adeptus Astartes. Astra Militarum players can now add even more units to their armies, whether they’re the corrupted Renegades and Heretics or the dauntless Death Korps of Krieg, while many Xenos units have been adjusted to work better in your games; the Tiger Shark in particular is now the fast-moving Titan-killer it was always meant to be.

Imperial Armour-  Index: Forces of the Astra Militarum

These new FAQs are bursting with changes and information. The one to pour over is for the Astra Militarum and if you are Death Korp Krieg player, your day just got a whole lot brighter. They can now have a laundry list of armor vehicles. Heretics and Renegades can also have new units added to their lists.

The Xenos FAQ, while not as attention grabbing, does clean up some vague wordage and answers why there are no datasheets for certain units.

Here are some teasers from the FAQs:

Astra Militarum

Pages 40 and 41 – Marauder Bomber and Marauder Destroyer, Abilities
Add the following ability:
‘Supersonic: Each time this model moves, first pivot it on the spot up to 90° (this does not contribute to how far the model moves) and then move the model straight forwards. Note that it cannot pivot again after the initial pivot. When this model Advances, increase its Move characteristic by 20″ until the end of the phase – do not roll a dice.’

Page 60 – Death Korps Grenadier Storm Squad, Wargear Options
Change the fourth bullet point to read:
‘• Up to two Grenadiers may replace their hot-shot lasguns with either a heavy stubber or an item from the Death Korps of Krieg Special Weapons list.’

Q: There is no datasheet for a Death Korps of Krieg Hades Breaching Drill Squadron – is there a datasheet I should use for this unit?
A: Use the Hades Breaching Drill Squadron datasheet from Imperial Armour – Index: Forces of the Astra Militarum. Replace the unit’s keyword with Death Korps of Krieg.


Pages 17 and 83 – Grasping Talons and Thorax Spine-maw
Change the abilities text to read:
‘When targeting Infantry units, each hit roll of 6+ made with this weapon is resolved at Strength x2 and Damage D6.’

Page 28 – Meka-Dread, Wargear Options
Change the second bullet point to read:
‘• The Meka-Dread must take one of the following: rokkit-bomms, the Mega Charga ability or a Kustom Force Field.

Pages 70 and 71 – Vampire Raider and Vampire Hunter
Add the following ability:
‘Colossal Flyer: When targeting this model with shooting attacks and psychic powers, always measure to the model’s hull where it would be at tabletop level, even if it is on a flying base. In addition, unless the attacking model has the Fly keyword, add 12″ to the measured distance to determine the range when making shooting attacks against this model. Note that this means many short-ranged shooting weapons will not be able to hit this model. Also, this model does not suffer the penalty for moving and firing Heavy weapons.’

Q: There are no datasheets for Firestorms, Great Knarloc, Knarloc Riders, Mega-dreads, Battlefortresses or Grot Bomb Launchers – are there datasheets I should use for these models?
A: Datasheets for these models will be published on the Forge World and Warhammer Community websites.
