Games Workshop has released two new easy to build Death Guard kits that will make perfect stocking stuffers this holiday season!
The Death Guard have some reinforcements for this holiday season in the form of Lord Felthius & his Tainted Cohort and the Myphitic Blight-hauler. These Easy To Build kits are quite affordable at $40 for Felthius and $25 for the Blight-hauler. These kits are designed for new hobbyists but should appeal to the veterans as well. Our very own Rob Baer put both kits on his paint bench for a quick and dirty review.

The Lord Felthius & his Tainted Cohort comes with the Lord Felthius model and his cohort of three Blightlord Terminators. Just because it is an ETB kit does not mean that short cuts were taken on the detail. For example, Lord Felthius’ skin cape is layered with dozens of flies with their wings overlapping. All the models fit together easily and more time was spent by Rob clipping the pieces out than actually assembling them. The models even slot into their bases with a quick snap. Now, the caveat is that there are no options to speak of. What you see is what you get, load out wise.
The Myphitic Blight-hauler is finally here and he is so cute. He comes armed as his datasheet indicates in the Death Guard codex with a bile spurt, missile launcher, multi-melta, and gnashing maw. It is a breeze to assemble all 13 components together that one might say you do not even need the instructions. The only phase you may have to pay attention to is when you are lining up the treads. Only, retailing for $25, you might want to pick up 3 in total to take full advantage of their abilities.

Easy to Build Lord Felthius & Tainted Cohort: $40
Many and varied are the diseased champions who lead the Death Guard to war. From single colonies, through vectoriums and sepsis cohorts, right up to the plague companies and the ships of the Plague Fleets, Death Guard Lords hold positions of command throughout the Traitor Legion’s ranks – Lord Felthius, clad in Terminator armour and accompanied by his 3-strong Tainted Cohort, is a notable example.
Designed to be as easy as possible to assemble for new hobbyists while being detailed enough for the hardiest veteran to appreciate, this set contains Lord Felthius, a Death Guard Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour and his Tainted Cohort, made up of 3 Blightlord Terminators. Push-fit, with no glue required, these are incredibly straightforward to put together, and come on pre-coloured green plastic sprues.
Lord Felthius is a particularly fine example of a Chaos Lord who truly loves his work – despite (or possibly because of) his pitted, rotting Terminator armour, his face is modelled in a cheerful rictus, staring proudly at the plague censer held aloft in his right hand which is dripping viscous fluids of an unpleasantly diseased nature. His armour is decorated with chainmail, furs and a boil-covered cloak, and the manreaper in his left hand features connectors and pipes that allow it to secrete diseased fluids that infect everything it touches.
His accompanying Tainted Cohort are no less horrific – 3 Blightlord Terminators. These are armed with the following: 1 carries a combi-bolter and balesword, 1 carries a combi-bolter and bubotic axe, and 1 wields a plaguespitter which is a bit, well, dribbly. Each has the horrible, rusted marks of Nurgle you would expect, and the Blightlord Terminator with the balesword is literally bursting with bubo-covered tentacles – they’re sticking out of where his face should be…
There are even 3 extra little pieces of detail for the bases of these miniatures – 3 Nurglings, 1 pulling the pin from a grenade, 1 with a rather sinister grin and 1 which is little more than a quivering, meaty clump of tentacles.
This plastic kit comes as 26 components, and is supplied with 4 40mm Round bases. Rules for these miniatures are included in the box.
Easy To Build Myphitic Blight-hauler: $25
Powering into battle on a trio of articulated track units, the Myphitic Blight-hauler is a light Daemon Engine that provides the Death Guard with heavy firepower wherever it is needed. Resembling a Bloat-drone that has been stripped of its turbines, this strange machine has heavy weapons mounted on its carapace, and its rusting armoured plates can absorb impressive punishment – as can its blubbery exposed flesh-parts, which soak up appalling trauma.
Designed to be as easy as possible to assemble for new hobbyists while being detailed enough for the hardiest veteran to appreciate, this kit is an Easy To Build Death Guard Myphitic Blight-hauler. Push-fit, with no glue required, this is incredibly straightforward to put together and comes on a pre-coloured green plastic sprue.
The Myphitic Blight-hauler is an unpleasant combination of machine and putrid rotting meat. From the front, it resembles some grotesque armoured vehicle, with a curved carapace featuring the symbol of Nurgle and 2 large, covered tracks. Where this differs from an ordinary attack vehicle, however, is the toothed maw at the bottom. From the rear, the horror continues – a third track is visible, along with a mass of flabby flesh, bound into the machine with straps and metal. The Myphitic Blight-hauler is armed with a multi-melta and missile launcher, which are mounted either side of the carapace.
This plastic kit comes as 13 components, and is supplied with a Citadel 80mm Round base. Rules for this miniature are included in the box.
