Slaanesh’s Fabulous Flex: New Fulgrim Primarch Model

It’s official: the new Daemon Primarch Fulgrim model has emerged, along with reveals for the Emperor’s Children in Warhammer 40k!

Updated December 27th, 2024, by Rob Baer with new information and links to relevant content from Games Workshop’s Christmas preview of Fulgrim.

Exciting developments are on the horizon for Warhammer 40k fans as new teasers and expanded lore surrounding the Daemon Primarch Fulgrim are here from Games Workshop.

Games Workshop unveiled the highly anticipated new Fulgrim model in plastic, signaling a major comeback for the Emperor’s Children faction in Warhammer 40k for 2025.

This release is particularly significant as the Emperor’s Children are the last of the four major Chaos factions to receive a dedicated codex. Plus, the introduction of Fulgrim is expected to complete the essential lineup, offering fresh new models and strategies for the tabletop.

2025 is set to be a landmark year for fans of the Emperor’s Children and the broader Warhammer 40k universe.

Currently, there are Death Guard, Thousand Sons, and a new World Eaters codex books for Warhammer 40k. That only leaves an Emperor’s Children army to complete the pantheon of renegade Astartes allied to the four Chaos gods.

Fulgrim Gets a Daemon Primarch Makeover

If there’s one thing Fulgrim knows, it’s how to make an entrance. When a Primarch decides to go full Daemon, you can bet it wouldn’t be subtle.

And here we are, standing awestruck as Fulgrim waltzes back into Warhammer 40k wearing a serpentine body, four arms, and enough daemonic bling to put a Hive World jeweler out of business.

Games Workshop was coy about addressing it, but right smack dab in the middle of the model is a big gaping wound with the symbol of Slaanesh crowning eight chaos flaps of stretched-out flayed skin.

Games Workshop wasn’t too eager to talk about it, but right in the middle of the model lies a rather conspicuous gash, adorned with the Slaaneshi emblem and flanked by eight chaotic flaps of stretched-out, flayed skin. Quite the centerpiece, don’t you think?

Let’s talk about those five heads—because why have one face when you can have options? It’s like Slaanesh’s own version of a mood ring. Feeling sassy? Pop on the withering arrogance head. Angry at your latest victim for not dying quickly enough?

Go with the furious contempt look. And for those fancy battle banquets (yes, I’m convinced those exist), maybe the helmeted option? Whatever the situation, Fulgrim’s got you covered. He’s not just a general; he’s a walking (or slithering?) runway show.

The wings? Oh, the wings. Spanning wide, they’re the perfect balance of terror and glamour. Whether casting ominous shadows over the battlefield or shimmering in hues that defy mortal description, they scream, “Notice me, mortals,” without him needing to utter a word.

Slaanesh clearly pulled out all the stops here—because when you’re the Dark Prince’s golden boy, why settle for basic?

Now, let’s address the weapons. Fulgrim doesn’t just bring a knife to a gunfight—he brings all the knives. Arms sprouting everywhere, claws, blades, and who knows what else. But what’s this? A plain broadsword?

You can almost hear the whispers from his entourage of debauched Emperor’s Children: “Fulgrim, sweetie, where’s the pizzazz?”

Yet, there’s something hauntingly deliberate about it. A simple blade among chaos—a relic, perhaps? A keepsake from his pre-corruption days? Or just Slaanesh proving once again that they love a dramatic twist.

Whatever the reason, this sword deserves its own lore deep-dive—wait, scratch that—it deserves its own epic poem.

His armor is no afterthought, either. It’s part fashion, part function, and all fabulous. Perfumed silks, scales sharper than your cousin’s roast at family dinners, and an aesthetic that says, “I came here to win and look amazing doing it.”

And then there’s the flayed skin. Because nothing says “Slaanesh life goals” like mixing luxury and horror into a single, jaw-dropping ensemble.

But let’s not ignore the real MVP here: Fulgrim’s presence. This isn’t just a miniature for your collection. It’s a centerpiece, a conversation starter, a declaration that your table is the throne of excess.

So, there you have it. A model that’s equal parts terror and pageantry, Fulgrim is back, slithering his way into our hearts—and probably some nightmares. Love him or fear him, one thing’s for sure: you can’t look away.

GW Reveals New 40k Emperor’s Children Coming in 2025

Emperor's Children 2025

As it stands, the Emperor’s Children have always been a cornerstone of Chaos Space Marine lore. Known for their devotion to Slaanesh, the Chaos God of excess, this legion has a rich history in the Warhammer 40k universe.

But unlike their fellow Chaos legions, such as the World Eaters and Death Guard, they’ve been left without a dedicated codex for some time.

Games Workshop has finally confirmed it: the Emperor’s Children are coming in 2025! After years of waiting, fans will get to see their beloved legion get a proper update for 10th Edition Warhammer 40k. It’s about time, right?

Why GW Released Fulgrim in Resin First:

Fulgrim Horus HeresySo, we all know a plastic version is coming now. Don’t kid yourself; the writing has been on the wall for years, and the release of the plastic Fulgrim model follows another established release pattern from Games Workshop.

Thus far, GW has established a pattern of releasing a new Chaos Legion and Primarch at the end or beginning of an edition dating back to 7th in 2016 with Magnus and the Thousand Sons.

Looking back at the pattern, we can guess that it will most likely be when the Emperor’s Children will be released. Thousand Sons were reworked/released in December 2016, right near the end of 7th Edition. Following that up, Death Guard came out the next year, in the Fall of 2017, at the beginning of 8th Edition.

Skipping a few years in between, the World Eaters came out the most recently at the end of the 9th Edition (winter 2023), so there were basically six years from Thousand Sons to World Eaters.  This gave Games Workshop time to drop project primaris, among other things that needed updating.

It Made Sense For GW To Release Resin Fulgrim First!

Fulgrim Horus Heresy

With this much space potentially between the release of resin Fulgrim Transfigured versus plastic, it seems like this is a sales tactic to put distance between the two Fulgrim models.  This potentially gives Mr. Resin Fulgrim two or three years of legroom to sell, but not very much after that. Most models don’t have a lifespan beyond that, anyway.

Business-wise, it’s smart; the hardcore customers will buy it (and we’ve seen plenty of people have already said they would), but optics-wise, it’s dumb. During the livestream reveal, you could hear audible boos from the crowd, and as it felt bad for a lot of 40k players.

But it allows them to continue with their Forge World Primarch series with the largest sales obstacle out of the way for the series first.

What is the New Fulgrim and the Emperor’s Children Release Date?

Skipping ahead a little while from now, you can make some interesting inferences: Chances are Emperor’s Children and the new Daemon Primarch Fulgrim model could be released in early to mid-2025, for Warhammer 40k. Previous rumors suggested the end of the 10th or beginning of 11th Edition (like the World Eaters were for 9th/10th).

Will Fulgrim and the Emperor’s Children finally get their moment in the spotlight? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—it’s going to be a hell of a ride!

Daemon Fulgrim Lore Spotted in Arks of Omen:

The screenshots come from Valrak, and with the reveal of Angron, Games Workshop making all four of the Daeom Primarchs was on everyone’s minds…

Fulgrim Arks of Omen

The picture comes from the new Arks of Omen Abaddon book, and this is actually the first time in a long time that GW mentioned Fulgrim by name!

That is actually a much bigger hint than many of the previous rumors. We’ve talked a lot about how GW does not like to make any lore or have artwork for models they don’t have a miniature for. Actually, mentioning him by name actually sets the stage for the return of a Daemon Primarch Fulgrim model to Warhammer 40k.

This also confirms that Fulgrim is out there doing (mostly bad) things in the Galaxy. Again, there have been rumors of a new Emperor’s Children codex, so adding a Primarch to the line would really make people excited.

We’ll have to see how long it takes (as the previous rumors said, they wouldn’t drop until the 10th edition); it would be awesome to see a scaled-up version of the old model.

Previous Daemon Primarch Fulgrim Model Rumors

Fulgrim or some sort of creature matching the description of the elevated Daemon Primarch Fulgrim leads a traitor host (The Great Cacophony) of ceramite armor against both Guardsmen and Ulthwe Black Guardians back in the Blood of the Phoenix book.

fulgrim screaming serpentIf that description sounds familiar, it may be because you may remember the last (small) Daemon Fulgrim model from the 1990s. Modeled on a 25mm base, this epic-scale mini’s four arms were equipped with three swords and a whip.

This is at least the third time we’ve seen Fulgrim, or a creature matching his description, wantonly slaughtering guardsmen in 8th Edition 40k lore:

Another Nod To Emperor’s Children

Fulgrim Is Daemon Primarch Fulgrim Next For 40k?When Chaos got all of its support for Vigilus Ablaze, GW commented that the new Chaos Marine sculpts were 100% compatible with the existing Noise Marine bits. Some fans were upset as they thought GW glazed over the entire Emperor’s Children faction.

However, they could leave a window open for more focused support later. This has been supported by many rumors that they will get their book after the World Eaters.

Either way, it looks like 2025 is shaping up to be a big year for Chaos fans! The return of Fulgrim and the Emperor’s Children is long overdue, and with the tease of the faction, it’s clear that Games Workshop isn’t done with the big surprises just yet.

Final Thoughts on The New Daemon Primarch Warhammer 40k Model

So, there you have it—Fulgrim is sharpening his claws, and the Emperor’s Children are poised to bring the noise (and maybe some operatic screams) to Warhammer 40k in 2025.

Whether leading a host of Emperor’s Children or standing alone like the diva he is, Fulgrim commands attention—and let’s be real, he knows it.
