Chaos Space Marines are finally back on the menu- here are the new 40k rules datasheets for the Raptors and Warp Talons!
We knew that Chaos was finally getting their time in the sun soon and with the datasheets being spotted, it’s coming up fast!
RUMORS: New Codex Chaos Space Marines Rules
Let’s check start with the Overall Chaos Space Marines and Legion rules Codex rumors we have already seen, and check out the datasheet that was spotted!

Some of those are super spicy for sure, and some are not. Either way, we know new Chaos Space Marines are on the way. Check out all the pages of the new Chaos Space Marine Codex rumors above!
- CSM doctrine:
- Exact same thing as SM, except replace +1AP with exploding 6s (unmodified hits)
- Icons:
vengeance +1 CA
wrath +1ap melee
flame +1ap shooting
excess +1 to hit melee
despair 6s to hit = autowound - All legions are getting 6 WT, 8 relics & 8 stratagems
- What else is in the book They have a way of consistently hitting on 2s (even with thunder hammers)

New Chaos Space Marines Raptors & Warp Talons 40k Rules Datasheets
This was spotted on Reddit as the new IKEA simplified rules are appearing in box sets with the new art inside. Let’s compare it to the old Chaos 40k rules Datasheets and see what’s changed.
Old rules
New Rules
New Bonuses:
- +1 to Wounds (was 1 now 2)
- +2 to Attacks (was 1 now 3)
- +1 to Leadership (was 7 now 8)
- Special Weapons are now listed on the sheet (with some various changes)
- Plasma Pistol/Rifle doesn’t have an overcharge profile
- Grenades missing from new sheet
What we don’t know:
- Unique abilities? (Leadership ability?)
- Deepstrike?
- Missing Plasma Overcharge Profile?
- Faction-wide rules and impact on the unit?
- Synergy with other CSM?
Overall, Raptors only got better! Assuming they don’t get obliterated and made obsolete by point increases, these are looking to be great shock options going forward!
All we have to do now is wait and pray GW doesn’t touch their point values too much. Especially considering their weakness tends to be how easy you can just kill them.

What we don’t know:
- Unique abilities? (Deepstrike with anti-overwatch?)
- Faction-wide rules and impact on the unit?
- Synergy with other CSM?
Overall, Warp Talons also only got better! Assuming they don’t get obliterated and made obsolete by point increases, these are looking to continue being a staple for CSM players!
Hopefully, they keep their anti-overwatch rules too, because that was a powerful aspect of their kit in the past.
RUMORS: Chaos Space Marines Warp Talons 40k Rules
Here are the other rumors for new Raptors and Warp Talon 40k rules that have been making the rounds as well:
- Raptors still have the -1LD aura +2a
Warp talon (unit 5 to 10)
- lost cancel overwatch
- gained no fallback rule
- 5a (these are total with claws)
Raptors (unit 5 to 10)
- still have the -1LD aura +2a
- Chainsword and pistol
- Up to 2 special weapons
- Up to 2 plasma pistols
- Champ can take plasma pistol Power sword or fist
Harken
- Can make a raptor unit reroll to hit and wound
