These miniatures look cool, and you even get a few models in flying poses!
Geonosian Warriors join the Separatist cause in this new expansion for Star Wars™: Legion! Relying on their sturdy exoskeletons to protect them from harm and their great numbers to swarm their opponents, Geonosian Warriors are an imposing new Corps option for the Separatist Alliance.
This expansion adds seven Geonosian Warrior miniatures to players’ armies, including a Geonosian Warrior leader and 4 Geonosian Warriors armed with powerful sonic blasters that are devastating at close range. Joining them are a Force Pike Warrior and a Sonic Cannon Warrior who can be added to the unit as heavy weapon options.
Take to the Skies With the New Geonosian Warriors Star Wars Legion Rules
The new rules for these Star Wars Legion Genosian Warriors come from Atomic Mass Games.
Unlike the drones of the hive, warriors had functional wings, which give them speed 2, and free action Jump 3 as they take wing around the battlefield harassing their targets from on high. However, if they grab an objective, Weighed Down will prevent them from utilizing Jump while they have a claimed objective token. Geonosian Warriors also have Scale to help them traverse rugged terrain. They are armed with spears in melee and a sonic blaster for ranged attacks. This works well with a new offensive ability, Death From Above, which denies cover when the unit attacks from a height greater than the defender. Finally, their hardened exoskeletons give them surging white defense dice to help protect them against enemies, and the rigors of their life on Geonosis.
They will be pretty fast and fun to play with Jump, Scale, and Death From Above! They will be a great unit to get wherever you need, and with white defensive dice surges, they should be pretty tough.
However, they are much better when led by Poggle and Sun Fac, which you can see the rules for here.
New Cards
Geonosian Warriors bring several options to help them better serve their masters. The number of miniatures in a unit can be increased by adding a Geonosian Warrior personnel upgrade. They can also add a fearsome weapon in the form of the Sonic Cannon Warrior. This upgrade adds a Red, Black, and White die at range 1-2, Impact 1, and Scatter.
Adding more minis is never really a bad thing! Then, the Sonic Cannon Warrior should add a lot of firepower to the unit.
When Geonosian Warriors need a versatile melee option, they can instead add a Force Pike Warrior, which has two different ways it can be utilized. The first is for more aggressive strikes, giving the unit an additional Red and Black die in melee and Suppressive. When the unit performs a move action, the card can instead be flipped to its other side, which adds Overrun 1, Suppressive, a single black die, and two white dice.
Lastly, the Force Pike Warrior can give you more powerful attacks. The other side adds overrun but has two white dice and one black.
