Wargames Atlantic German WW1 Infantry can be converted to make crazy Imperial Guard alternatives like DKoK!
This week we are cracking open the Wargames Atlantic German Infantry and seeing how they can be converted with their other boxes. A lot of the modern minis are based loosely off the old soldier styles, so we’re going to see what we can come up with using them as a base for some conversions.
Rob is going to show you everything that the models come with, how long they take to build, and how easy the conversions are. That way you can decide if these boxes are worth your hard-earned hobby dollars.Â

Really Good Value
You get a lot of models and tons of bits for the price! You can also bundle deal multiple boxes to save even more.
Rob wasn’t sure how WWI minis would do on the channel, (spoiler alert YouTube deleted this video at first- because that’s the world we live in) so he decided convert them together to make some DKoK looking models! If you don’t feel like converting though, no worries. These can be used as alternatives for tons of games as-is, everything from Chaos Cultists to normal guard and of course Death Korps of Krieg.
You get so many extra bits on the sprues! Not to mention you get five of these sprues in each box. Some really cool gas masks, grenades, and packs. The only downside is they don’t come with bases so you’ll have to get your own. If you want to see a more in-depth breakdown of the box, check out our post on it here.
$35 for 30 minis. What more can you ask for! It’s hard to find good minis any cheaper. If you want to see everything they have to offer, go check out their website.
Assembled Minis
You’re going to be hard-pressed to find better looking hard plastic minis for this price. Rob assembled three of the different head types and weapons. The only issue we may run into on the conversions is the head. They have a built-in neck that runs up. Not a big deal at all just something to be aware of.
Conversions
This is these DKoK conversions using the Raumjäger box. Really easy and everything fit well. The WWI gas mask gives the model a very grimdark feel. Unfortunately, after Rob built this he put it in a plastic baggy so the glue went a little crazy.
The only thing is the neck, a tiny bit of gapping is there that can be fixed with some Green Stuff.
This guy was done with the spiked head and the Grognards box they offer. Everything here fits perfectly and the flowing coat really adds a lot of dimensions.
For this one, he added the gas mask head to the Grognards box. Looks almost identical to some of the hard to get Guard chapters… Again you may need a tiny bit of filler around the neck, but painting will cover most of it up.
All three of them side by side. They all look really cool and are an easy way to convert an army quickly.
That does is for the mins today! They are really affordable and look awesome. It’s hard to find 30 minis for $35 dollars anywhere else, and better-looking DKoK alternatives!
