Games Workshop revealed details for their big summer Warhammer 40k preview with a new video and lots of hats, set to coincide with the Tacoma Open.
Updated on July 4th, 2025, with the latest on the Warhammer Big Summer Preview announcement.
Games Workshop pulled the plug on its big Warhammer previews at the Dallas Open, leaving fans hanging—but not for long. In a recent post, they revealed all the details for what they are dubbing the BIG summer preview.
Let’s take a look at what’s still on deck for the Warhammer roadmap and all the possibilities, such as new Space Marines, that may be revealed soon.
The Big Summer Preview 18 July 2025
There’s a big ol’ Warhammer Preview on the way for the 18th of July now. It’s said to be crammed with juicy sneak peeks for Warhammer 40k, including a possible new army stomping into the Mortal Realms.
And don’t worry, there’s plenty of fresh revels coming for other games too besides 40k and AoS.
Adam and Eddie will be your tour guides through the plastic chaos, and they’ve even put out this video that might—just might—hide a few blink-and-you’ll-miss-it clues.
What Previews To Expect Next (?)
Space Marines are apparently gearing up for another glow-up. Codex 2.0 is circling October like a hungry Tyranid, and the names getting thrown around are big: Vulkan He’stan (finally), Lysander, a White Scars HQ zooming in on a jetbike, and maybe—just maybe—some long-overdue attention for the Raven Guard and Iron Hands. If your shelf’s been missing some narrative muscle, this could be your moment.
Now, the real wildcard: are they holding any of this back for 11th edition? Feels like it.
Speaking of 11th edition, 2026’s not as far off as you think. The rumor is that we’re looking at another Orks vs. Space Marines starter box. Classic combo. So if you’re the kind of collector who stares at sprues and thinks five steps ahead, now’s the time to start scheming.
Second Founding Chapters: Time to Shine?
Let’s talk Crimson Fists. Pedro Kantor’s name keeps popping up from Valrak like he’s stuck in a psychic feedback loop. Between new artwork, lore callouts, and the suspiciously Pedro-shaped hole in the model line, it’s looking likely he’ll be marching back into our lives. Odds are he shows up swinging in 11th.
Meanwhile, over in Flesh Tearer territory, Gabriel Seth fans might want to keep their chainswords ready. Once the last few codices drop, GW’s said to be pivoting to campaign content—which could be Seth’s cue to reappear with something a bit snazzier than “angry resin man with anger issues.”
Then there’s Lias Issodon and the Raptors. This one’s subtle—more cloak-and-dagger than banner-and-bolter—but those decals don’t lie. Issodon’s got cult classic energy and slots in beautifully with the sneaky, surgical side of narrative play. If you like your battles with a bit more espionage and a bit less explosion, keep an eye on this one.
The Final Codex Countdown
As for codices still MIA? Leagues of Votann and Drukhari are awkwardly lingering at the back of the buffet table. Everyone else has been fed or is at least holding a plate.
These two? Still eyeing the appetizers. Their books are overdue, and the clock’s ticking fast toward 11th.
Final Thoughts From Us
So there it is—Warhammer’s summer shake-up is coming in hot, and the rumor mill’s working overtime. Space Marines might be getting their glow-up, Pedro Kantor’s probably limbering up off-stage, and 11th edition is starting to peek over the horizon like a poorly concealed Titan.
Whether you’re into cloaked operatives, angry resin veterans, or just here for the hats, the next few months look packed.
