Is it Worth It?
Unfortunately, The value of the Space Marines combat patrol is really just based on a little less than half the contents of the Leviathan Starter Set, minus the Ballistus Dreanought, one extra squad of Infernus and the Sternguard Squad. It has basically zero value.
Overall, unless you need these models because you missed out on that box release, it’s not worth buying this box as the value is far lower than the cost of this box on the secondary market. If you get all the models from Amazon, you will actually save more money than buying this box.
This Combat Patrol Box is a very sub-par release by Games Workshop.
How Many Points is it?
So, you’re wondering how many points the Space Marines Combat Patrol box racks up, eh? Well, in Warhammer 40k 10th edition, this box hits with about 425 points. But, as you know, the tides of the Grimdark universe are ever-shifting, and with the latest points updates, that number could quickly fluctuate.
One minute, you’re ready to purge heretics, and the next, you’re recalculating your list because the points gods have decided to have some fun.

Space Marines Combat Patrol Description
This box is a little lackluster without a huge focus on anything, but you do get some interesting models inside.

Terminators
Terminator Squads hit the battlefield rocking Tactical Dreadnought armor – the tech miracle that lets them brush off just about anything, from teleportation whiplash to bone-rattling artillery blasts. These elite Space Marines either stomp their way across the field or pop up out of nowhere in a crackle of teleport energy, laughing off enemy fire as they dish out a relentless storm of their own.
Infernus Marines
Infernus Squads scorch through enemy lines with the blazing infernos from their pyreblasters. Masters of close combat, they unleash torrents of burning promethium into trenches, bunkers, ruins, and dense foliage, making sure no enemy escapes the Chapter’s fiery vengeance.
Terminator Captain
Space Marine Captains lead from the front, and nothing suits them better for the job than Terminator armor. This insanely tough suit shrugs off all but the nastiest enemy fire and lets the Captain teleport right into the thick of battle.
Terminator Librarian
Librarians, the battle-psykers and lore-keepers of the Space Marines, bring a deadly psychic edge when decked out in Terminator armor. Whether it’s intense boarding actions, brutal urban warfare, or facing overwhelming enemy forces, these psychic powerhouses clear the way with devastating empyric blasts and uncanny foresight.
New Space Marines Combat Patrol Rules
As you’d expect from a Combat Patrol built for close combat mayhem, the Strike Force Octavius comes loaded with rules to help you teleport across the battlefield. The Terminators may be all about close quarters, but they’re still Space Marines at heart, rocking the same Oath of Moment army rule as before.
What sets them apart this time are new Enhancements, secondary objectives, and Stratagems that sharpen their melee game even more. You can get all the new Space Marines Combat Patrol rules right here.
Champion Duellist Rule
This warrior lord is the very embodiment of Space Marine strength and nobility, always hunting down the biggest threats to their battle-brothers. With unmatched swordsmanship, they take out the enemy’s most dangerous champions.
Effect? The bearer’s melee weapons come with the [PRECISION] and [LETHAL HITS] abilities, ensuring every strike counts where it matters most.
Stratagem
With their enhanced physiology and ceramite armor, Space Marines can tough out even the strongest hits. For the rest of the phase, if an attack’s Strength is higher than your unit’s Toughness, subtract one from the enemy’s Wound roll. Makes those big hits hurt a little less!
What to Buy Next?
Well, considering this doesn’t have many models inside and only ten non-character models, you have a long way to go. You’ll need plenty of Intercessors, tanks, probably more Terminators, and characters. It’s hard to say what to go next, as you basically have to build out the rest of your army (and this doesn’t really save you any cash).
The only value we see in this box is picking it up if you can’t find a box of Leviathan or one of the other starters to split with someone else.
There is also something to be said about just buying the minis you think are cool and building an army around them! Don’t forget to grab the new rules for this faction and brush up on how to play them. We’ve got you covered in this article!
While it may not have the highest value, The Space Marines Combat Patrol still offers a way for new players to start building their armies and explore the faction.
