40k Deathwatch Combat Patrol Review
So, you’re eyeing that Combat Patrol box, huh? Good choice! These boxes are basically the VIP pass to starting a killer Warhammer 40k army. You get a solid mix of units, from the tough-as-nails troops to those snazzy specialist units.
You can also play this box as is in smaller games of Warhammer 40k, with the Deathwatch “Combat Patrol rules.”

Is it Worth It?
Unfortunately, the Deathwatch Combat Patrol has one of the lowest values of all the boxes, and $85ish of it comes in from characters and the upgrade sprue. So, if you need everything inside and really want the upgrade sprue, you will get the Apothecary for free.
If you don’t want every single thing inside, then it would actually be cheaper to buy everything on its own. It’s sad to say… but true.
How Many Points Is This?
Well, if you’re wondering about the 40k Deathwatch Combat Patrol points? In games of Warhammer 40,000, this box is around 350-400 points.
What to Buy Next?
Considering this has so little inside in terms of actual full units, you basically still have to build your full army from here. So, we’d say grab whatever you think looks cool and start painting. It’s hard to say what will be good in the meta as 40k can change so often, so we’d go with what models you like the most, as this box doesn’t really push you into a single path for the army.
Final Thoughts From Us: Deathwatch Combat Patrol
So there you have it. The Deathwatch Combat Patrol isn’t the strongest value box in the range, but it still gives you a tidy start if you’re set on building up the galaxy’s most stylish alien hunters.
You’re getting a playable patrol right out of the gate, plus the trademark upgrade sprue that makes your Primaris look sharp in black and silver.
Just don’t expect this box alone to carry you through a full army build. Treat it as a solid entry point, grab some reinforcements you actually like, and you’ll be on your way to a Deathwatch force that looks good on the table and hits hard enough to make any xenos sweat.
