1st Place: Scott Blegen, Dark Angels (Space Marines) Army Lists
This Stormlance Dark Angels army list is built to buff, protect, and bully the board.
Azrael kicks things off by anchoring the backfield with rerolls and durability. The Lieutenant with combi is the cheap utility buddy who jumps into whatever squad needs wound support.
Then the big man, Lion El Jonson, strides forward as the list’s late game closer. Behind him, two Ravenwing Command Squads bring Apothecaries, Ancients, and clutch upgrades that let the bikes fall back, heal, and pick ideal fights.
Sammael adds extra plasma and buffs to keep the Ravenwing running hot. Next up, the lone Intercessor Squad should hold the safe points. They are not flashy, but they are dependable and love Azrael’s protection.
After that, the speed kicks in. Two units of Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs hop from ruin to ruin, scoring primaries and cleaning up softened targets. Right behind them are the stars of the list, the Gladiator Lancers, which open the game by deleting high-toughness threats so the rest of the army can move freely.
The Inner Circle Companions offer a small but tough melee plug for lanes you cannot leave open.
Outriders provide cheap forward pressure and screening so your plasma bikes do not eat surprise charges.
Then you get to the big guns in motion, the Ravenwing Black Knights. Two full units of plasma talons hit like a freight train, scoot away with Stormlance tricks, and force your opponent to play your speed game.
The list scores by overwhelming the board with mobility, deleting threats in priority order, and letting the Lion lock down the late game.
2nd Place: Eric Olson, Chaos Daemons Army Lists
This latest Chaos Daemon Army List rolls out exactly in the order you see it, starting with a character block that looks like a Chaos greatest hits album.
Be’lakor leads the whole mess, using his shadow tricks to keep the army alive and set up key fights. He is the control piece that ensures the rest of the force actually reaches midfield.
Next up is the Great Unclean One, waddling forward as a giant tar pit. With the Endless Gift, he shrugs off chip damage and plants himself on objectives your opponent would prefer you never touch.
The Lord of Change works the opposite angle, tossing out ranged mortals and acting as your precision scalpel against elite targets. Rotigus joins the frontline beside the GUO, layering more mortals and spreading Nurgle nonsense across anything that gets close.
Skarbrand stomps in as the closer. He locks units in place, forces trades, and deletes whatever your opponent was hoping would survive.
Your Battleline package is all scoring muscle. Nurglings scout ahead, steal corners, and block deep strike spots.
The two units of Plaguebearers trudge behind the big boys, sitting on safe objectives and forcing your opponent to waste real resources to clear them.
The fast support shows up with two squads of Flesh Hounds, perfect for early board pressure, hunting light units, and shutting down psychic tricks.
Last are the Screamers, which zip around tagging vehicles or grabbing late-game objectives your opponent forgot about.
Damage comes from the Greater Daemons, board control from Nurgle bodies, and pressure from the fast movers. The list scores by flooding the midfield with monsters, trading slow but brutally, and choking out space until your opponent runs out of pieces. Chaos doing Chaos things.
3rd Place: Tyler Devries, Adeptus Mechanicus Army Lists
This Adeptus Mechanicus Army list features the Skitarii Hunter Cohort, that’s all speed, angles, and the dakka opponents really did not want to see across the table.
The plan is simple. Move fast, shoot early, and drown the midfield in chrome-plated bodies until something breaks.
Belisarius Cawl sits at the top of the command chain. He buffs the nearby gunline, keeps your biggest units efficient, and adds reliable ranged damage with the solar atomiser. Right behind him, the Skitarii Marshal brings Cantic Thrallnet, which lets the infantry reposition, redeploy, and generally act like they installed better firmware than the rest of the galaxy.
The Battleline is two big blocks of Skitarii Rangers. These squads hold objectives, screen out deep strike angles, and rain down special weapon fire. The mix of galvanic rifles, plasma, arc, and the arquebus gives them solid reach, and Omnispex support keeps them accurate.
Three units of Ironstrider Ballistarii provide absurd long-range output. Two squads run lascannons to evaporate tanks, while the autocannon squad handles lighter armor and elite infantry.
The mobility package starts with the Pteraxii Skystalkers. These units hop across the table, scoring, tagging shooters, and picking off weak screens. The large squads give the army wide pressure, while the small five-man unit is perfect for late-game plays.
Next are the Sicarian Infiltrators, three full squads that form the aggressive midboard presence. They forward deploy, force your opponent to respect their threat range, and shred infantry with volume fire and taser goads. They set the tempo for the early game.
The Ruststalkers arrive as your melee finishers. Once the Infiltrators soften a zone, these murderblenders push in and clear what is left.
Overall, this list scores by overwhelming the board, forcing trades on your terms, and using raw mobility to stay ahead on primaries while your Ironstriders delete anything important.
