orks-new-stompa-titleCheck out this retro Orks Warhammer 40k cut-away poster from a White Dwarf that shows what the inside of a Stompa looks like!

Stompa’s are an Ork’s equivalent to a Knight. But how do they look on the inside? Check out this old poster showing what goes on in each compartment!

The Stompa, like everything the Ork’s throw together is one that makes you scratch your head and wonder how it works. Anyway, when a Big Mek gets enough materials together, he can make one of these walking deathtraps.

GW Shows What the Inside of a Stompa Looks Like

Ork stompa poster 1This poster was put out way back in an old White Dwarf as part of the second round of Apocalypse’s marketing blitz. They had done similar posters for the Predator and Land Raider by that point so they took a dive into the Ork armory here!

This poster, however, was a bit different in style. Those Space Marine ones looked more like a military blueprint but this poster was done in a more whimsical, comic book style. The Stompa is doing Stompa things. The death rokkits are blasting off and somehow hitting a target.

Ork stompa poster 2The heart of the Stompa is a big furnace where Gretchin shovels coal and other materials to keep the beast running on all cylinders. Who knows, maybe a Gretchin or two falls in during combat and nobody would probably even bat an eye. It may even run better that way.

Looking at the left-hand side of the poster, there’s an ammo storage room. Where Imperial tanks and Admech have autoloaders that use servo skulls as the brains, Orks just tether a few Gretchin and lower them down to an ammo pile where they grab a shell to fire.

Overall, it’s pretty surprising to see the Orks put so much trust in the Gretchins. They’re basically the entire crew that operates this thing. Plus, there’s something to be said about the overall construction of the walking metal beast. If you’ve seen the past Imperial tanks, you’ll know they’re pretty cramped. However, the Orks have enough space to throw a party on the middle and bottom floors!
